I think we're set to have a great year.
I think the defense comes back to "average", which is where our talent level is. Not going to win a lot of games with it, but we shouldn't lose due to it either, which happened a few times last year.
I do have 2-3 games I'm concerned about:
1) USC. People think that's a lock, but we've lost the past few openers. Can't be overconfident going into that. The weakest part of our team is defense, and we're facing a Lincoln Riley offense... game could become a nightmare if they're on, and our defense remains dogshit.
2) Bama. People think now that Saban is gone, they will collapse. I think DeBoer is probably better than Les Miles, and Miles ran LSU at a high level for a long time after Saban left. I honestly think people are sleeping on Bama this year.
3) A&M, mainly because it's a road game.
I think we should win the rest, and if we take 1 of those three we're in playoff contention.

I am strictly focused on the opener in Vegas. While opening to Our Blessed Lady of the Poors would probably be better, it should be a good game for our offense to start syncing. Despite Lincoln Riley’s Defensive staff overhaul I don’t think he gets that you can actually stop an opponent from moving the ball at will.
His offense may give our defense fits but if we have ANY success on that side of the ball that’s a huge shot of confidence boost for the remainder of the season.
