Batters with horrible pitch selection in the 9th

Gio swings at the first pitch. Smith swings at ball 4. Duplantis, up 2-0, goes after a pitch clearly high to pop up and end the game. Their pitcher was clearly rattled and we couldn’t work the count.

Down by 2 runs and needing base runners, I was always taught “take till you get a strike, make the pitcher work”. I’m guessing LSU coaches and players have never heard of that approach before.
