I bet he does, too.
PM said in an article that Coleman would be the closer.

Coleman starts the first game of the season and then we'll see what happens after that.
If we can't get anything out of Ranaudo, Ross, and Bradshaw you have to start him. Hopefully we will never see that in 09.

Coleman would be better out of the pen. Funky motion that is difficult to adjust to when the batters would only get one look at him, not 3 at bats if he were a starter.

I'm just hoping they go above 500 this year. The head coach is their only weak link.

fwiw skip did not do much actual day to day coaching when he was here. he took care of motivational stuff for the team. smoke/beetle/turtle/etc ran practices.

How can that be, I thought Smoke sucked. You mean that he did contribute a lot to all the championships?
Posted on 12/28/08 at 8:31 pm to mametoo
smoke is an excellent x's and o's coach. but the guy cannot run a program. just not "head coach" material. not a shot on the guy. he couldn't moyivate jenna jameson into an orgasm.

I have to give Smoke some credit. That man knows baseball. He is a great baseball mind. The problem with Smoke like mentioned above was the motivation factor. HE couldn't get excited for anything. Smoke was a GREAT assistant coach. And he would do well as a head coach of a smaller program.
Pressure just got to him and he couldnt handle it.
