Baseball question: line up for different starting pitchers

Henry is a strike out pitcher. Marceaux pitches to contact. I'm not sure which one you would consider Labas.

It would seem to me that if you are pitching Marceaux you better have a good defense and maybe the same with Labas. With Henry, who is going to get the strike outs, you could go with a more offensive line up.

So the question is, should we have a different line up depending on who the starting pitcher is? An argument for not doing this would be: continuity with the infielders or you find your best 8 and stick with them.

I mean, let’s focus on putting together one competent lineup to begin with before we start trying to mix and match

Two walks and an error lead to EKU's first run Friday. Good defense is always important because you never know when a pitcher isn't going to have his best stuff. Cole had only three K's in that game.

I think PM will probably focus more on if we are facing a righty/lefty, but you have a point
