Very well said. After a few more years of finishing #1 in recruiting and winning tha NCG, the people who govern NCAA Football will look closer at what Alabama is doing and stop it. But they are being paid off too so probably not. Regardless, College Football will suffer as a whole the longer this continues... thanks for the write up. Very accurate about the financial side being the catalyst....

Dabo would have to be high on crack to leave Clemson and follow in Saban’s footsteps. Any future ALA head coach will be set up to fail because of Saban’s dominance and multiple Championships - could be 8 or 9 once he retires.

Sweeney has built an ACC dominant program that has won a NC , prooven they can beat Alabama, and will be in the CFP’s annually. If he were to coach at Alabama, the first time he loses to Auburn or misses the CFP’s he will be run out of town. Just ask Bill Curry who had a brick thrown through his office window when Alabama lost to Ole Miss.

Lost in this though is some perspective of how good a program LSU has become over the last 20 years. This has been an unprecedented run for LSU, going from a middle of the pack SEC team to a team usually ranked in the top 10 at some point in the year, a perennial NC contended, and littering the NFL with quality players.

That will be a tough decision for him. He’s got such a perfect setup at Clemson going and he seems so happy personally right now. While it’s his dream job to coach at Alabama, that would be a tough gig to follow Saban assuming the wheels don’t fall off (like FSU under Bowden at the end)
