That's obvious.

Will be curious to see if we implement more man this week. We need to throw Cover 3 in the trash. Play Quarters and Man and leave with the result. The team is more comfortable playing man and quarters. Cannot be scared to play those coverages.

Man you are not alone.

We all loved that 03 blitzing shutout D or the 2011 terror that created sacks and turnovers and scored multiple times a game, but I just don’t see that anywhere right now.

The offenses are too sophisticated and the defense too hamstrung by refs that don’t allow any contact with QBs or receivers but seem to allow OL to do whatever the hell they want to a front seven (at least when they play LSU ).

I feel like the baseball idea of manufacturing points is kind of where we are, but on defense lol.

When a defense puts up multiple consecutive stops against good offenses, especially on the road, your offense HAS to capitalize and turn those stops into points because it’s only a matter of time until even good defenses expose a crack and get exploited.

Yes, the scores at the end of halves are killers and we need improved and more aggressive schemes in those situations, but if we are getting more points from our offense in those middle series it makes things a lot easier for the defense.

This is why I’ve wanted Lane or this type of HC here for a decade, to take the game out of our defense’s hands and go get the win ourselves.

Be the attacker for the first time in I don’t know how long outside of 2019.

That season isn’t magical just because we finally beat Bama or went undefeated or broke every record there is. It just felt so damn different than anything we had seen in Baton Rouge and was such a breath of fresh air to feel like we were going to score any time we had the ball and nothing anyone could do would stop us.

Lane is going to bring that here and that’s why I’m so excited for what is to come. Forget sweating out DCs and prevent defenses lol, let’s go run them off the field and watch the defense feast when they are playing catch up
