There actually are nice places in the AU/Opelika area. I am dining at Warehouse Bistro(Opelika) on Friday night with my wife celebrating our birthdays. It is a very quaint and fancy place located in a warehouse district(dump area). We went there in 2004 before the game, and when we drove up to it we were freaking out that this had to be the wrong place. Don't let that fool you. It is in fact a very nice place. I cant access the website right now but I believe its www.warehousebistro.com.

I had the beef tournedoes when I was there and it was good. I stumbled across a website weeks ago with restaurants in the area and there seem to be about 5 nice restaurants; research tripadvisor for Opelika restaurants they have rankings by everyday people. Warehouse Bistro is not a chain. If you choose here make reservations....its not a big place.

The waitresses are professional, but better yet-hot coeds at AU....at least by my experience in 2004.

I am driving 25 miles to go here so I'd say its pretty good.

Good luck with your search.

I just found another place ranked #1 on tripadvisor-Cafe 123. W-B is # 2.
