If they are being recruited early, they had to have put in many hours and be pretty polished by that time to get noticed. That means they feel the pressure to keep throwing and improving early on because that is when they get looked at. Little Johnny says, look Bobby just got offered at 14, I better play even more.

I don’t think kids getting recruited that early are getting recruited because they’re polished. They’re getting recruited because the raw talent is there.

I don’t have kids playing ball so maybe that’s what they’re thinking but I know when I played with kids who were getting recruited early I didn’t think they were in that position because they play a lot. I knew they were in that position because they flat out had the natural athleticism for the game

Times are different. Most of those kids recruited early these days have been on top travel teams for many years. Not saying it should be that way but it is.

Of course they are good.....but they play a lot too.
