I don't think Iowa will win out myself, but at this point in the season they fully DESERVE to be ranked #4 in the BCS. I think we have too many injuries to sustain our current winning streak of 13 games in a row and will lose at least once and maybe twice before the season is over.

Also, I love how LSU fans are so quick to forget that they lost to mediocre teams in Kentucky and Arkansas at home in 2007 and had close games against Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Ole Miss along the way.

Iowa is a solid team but does not have the speed to keep up with the premier teams. Colin said it right on this am - look at Iowa recruiting rankings over the last 5 years. That in itself speaks LOUD as far as talent goes.

Thats the SEC compared to the big 10. Why do you think the SEC almost automatically makes the BCSCG? Its because they fight through the toughest conference in the country and deserve it, whether they have a blimish or two. Because a 2nd tier SEC team is better than a 1st Big 10 team.

for comparison, let's pretend florida

So now we are arguing that Iowa should be ahead of FL? Hold on, lets go about this one debate at a time. If not why was FL even brought up?

But why has the SEC stuggled with Big 10 teams outside of OSU in the past 10 years then?

I take that as a compliment that Iowa and Kirk Ferentz are able to do more with less than a lot of teams in the country and can compete for Big 10 titles and have an outside chance of competing for a NC.

Please give reasons for this while keeping in mind you have been losing in 80% of your games and play in the big 10

clearly the difference is that our medicore teams were both top 30 in 2007

while it is hard for me to even establish their mediocre teams because they consist of a clusterfrick of irrelevance all with the same records

what the hell is the difference between minnesota, northwestern, and indiana?

Exactly, but Iowa doesn't have the talent or speed to keep up with other teams in the country. You can't convince me that Iowa would be undefeated in even the ACC

FWIW, Cowherd is my favorite sports personality, btu they won't play him here in Tulsa.

Iowa's team is built great for competing with the big 10 teams with great linebacker and dline play, but Iowa hasn't played a team with a true pass threat. They play a lot of zone coverage and a lot of times they have the linebacker covering a receiver. What would happen to Iowa when they played a team with great athletes they would get killed. It would be the same as ohio state losing to florida and lsu and all the big 10 teams losing to usc in the rose bowl

The announcers were saying how Iowa rarely ever blitzes and runs zone coverage. There is NO way this would work in the SEC. Especially since our players are considerablly faster.
