think of it like this.

last year, you don't even host a damn regional.

this year, you don't even qualify for one.

LSU's a storied program because of the national titles and sustained success and excellence. PM earned his NC in 2009, but since then it's just been a downhill snowball effect and it starts with his trust assistant coaches.

Not because we didn't make it to the Tourney (which I imagine had a lot to do with it) but for his horrible SEC record the last two seasons.

If the team didn't pull that 23 game win streak out of their arse in 09, his SEC record would be horrendous.

The people that do, i'd love to know what they think he's done SPECIFICALLY to regress as a coach in just 3 seasons

even though i DO NOT want PM fired, the people that do have a legitimate beef. He is the highest paid college baseball coach in the country and LSU's reputation and facilities is a HUGE draw as far as recruiting goes. when you add how we lost this year and who we lost to in the SEC, there is a lot of frustration amongst all LSU baseball fans. LSU baseball fans are unequaled in the country; yes, we are tough on coaches, but damit, we travel and we spend money! The bar is high and PM has not met that bar the last 2 years. Last year, he was given a free ride, but this year is damn tough to take. Our small ball "experiment" was a disaster and we have no reliable relief pitching. Add to that what "seems" to be one hell of a lot of base running errors and the atmosphere ain't rosy for PM. You ask a salesman that hasn't made his quota for 2 years "how's it goin'" and he'll tell you he's damn afraid he's gonna get fired. College baseball is more competitive than it used to be and LSU is one of the big reasons why; not just our past teams but our fans and the money the program brings in.
