That may be true. “Could be” is a dangerous world to venture into though.

And Smart, a former defensive coordinator, has his team playing in a NC with a freaking freshman QB.

The contract they are giving him is an indication. O is gone next year if he doesn't show progress and Aranda takes over

I've been screaming this. No way LSU gives that contract without the understanding DA is the next HC. He is the future of LSU football!

I’m just relieved that we don’t have to worry about Alleva trying to hire a coach away from someone else to replace O.

Knowing Aranda is the next HC is really comforting. He could easily be the next Kirby Smart, and he’s already on staff. Anything else is way riskier imo.

Bird in the hand...

Hopefully the progress will be our coordinator teaching DBs to tackle when the bowl game is on the line. For $2.5 million we need to get that part right.

Glad we kept Aranda, but we probably got played by A&M and Aranda's agent.

The offense was the reason for the ND loss.
Not going for it on 4th and inches put that game at risk.

Sometimes perfect storms happen. Remember Flynn to Byrd against Auburn 2007?

I've heard the contract says no coaching search will happen if O is let go.

At least they’re consistent.

hope Alleva didn't tell Aranda that. It would create a terrible conflict of interest for Aranda if he thinks he only has to coach bad enough to get Orgeron fired so he can become HC.

I would imagine everyone involved can read the tea leaves and doesn't need to be told what the potential windfall may be. even O is smart enough for that.

There was no "prevent defense" used against ND
