This from a North Carolina Fan....

Ok so your Tarheels have admitted dodging App State. So the team you pull for is scared of scheduling a Division II school.

Also the Tarheels lost on HOMECOMING a few years back 28-3 to a I-AA school(but according to you they also should be classified as Div II)...moron

Haven't you heard, I am only a bandwagon Carolina basketball fan. The only thing I can tell you about their football program is that Butch Davis is their coach, and I am still bitter that Julius Peppers decided to play football their instead of basketball.

More people would still know who the 3 time defending 1-AA QB is before they would know who Hatch or Lee are.

Even Cauble said after yesterdays practice that our QB's look "ok" at best.

I am sure Hatch never thought he would play a down for LSU much less ever start. He came to LSU to be a coach.

Lee WILL BE very good one day but I dont think he is as good TODAY as AE.

I am not saying the cat from APPY isn't good, i just think all this hoopla over him being this awesome D1 QB on a DII team is silly.

If you don't pay attention to football and you still want to post, at least do some research...there is a significant difference between Div 1-AA and Div-2

I don't even know who Carolina's QB is and I live an hour and a half from Chapel Hill...At least people in different states know AE's name..

And to those who ask why AE isn't playing 1-A ball...neither Clemson nor USC wanted him as a QB because he was so short and small they didn't think he would do well

Well if Michigan was looking ahead to the Oregon game they sure did a bang up job.....You just can't show up fellows you have to suit up and man up and that's what we are gonna get in BR.

this is one of the reasons i dont come over to the rant as much as i use to, b/c of you stupid F@#$%, if he was better, then why is he not playin 1A ball

To me there is basically no difference between div 1 AA and Div II. I am sure the talent is different, but to me if your not D1A your div II

I realize that this is a thread that started out harmless and all but once again some people have allowed their inferiority complexes show.

First, all that anyone can say for sure right now is that Armanti has experience in college football that Hatch and Lee have yet to get or show how talented they are. I know that both LSU QB's have talent, otherwise they sure as hell wouldn't be considered for the starting position. Instead they'd be picking up towels and keeping the starters hydrated with water bottles. Suffice it to say, that as of right now Armanti has the rings and the street cred to say he is better.

Second, get the hell over yourself if you think that players in the FBS are better simply because they are in the FBS. Armanti simply wasn't given a scholarship because of his size. However he has demonstrated that he possess the intelligence, skill and drive to compete and succeed. Ignorance is when someone doesn't know better but does something anyway, stupidity is knowing better and still doing it. Ask yourself this question the next time you begin to think that, How many athletes from lower divisions are in the hall of fame? And I don't mean just football. Examine all sports! You damn well know there have been a lot of players that have had great careers in the pros.

To summarize this long rant, simply because a university has more money, a larger stadium, bigger players and is listed in the FBS DOES NOT mean that they are superior to all universities in lower divisions. So stop thinking that your education dollars bought you a better degree or athletics department when so many other Americans out there received just as comparable of an education and athletics.

Well, when we played Miami of Ohio a few years back they had a QB who was head and shoulders above nearly all QB's we've ever had. It happens.

I am sure all the coaches and players thought thats what Hatch and Lee would be doing this year. Miles did the right thing letting go of RP but it will come at a cost.

AE could play Div1 ball for alot of schools.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then why isn't he?

because he plays at APP State, the ones that gave him a shot to run the whole shooting match the 3rd game into his true freshman year over a proven quarterback who started in our 1st national championship game the year before
(actually he wasn't given anything, he earned it)
Armanti has a lot of pride playing for ASU, it cracks me up to see posts assuming he would transfer to a "real D1 school" if offered...the kids having the time of his life right now, believe it

Listen, Hatch ain't no slouch just no one's seen him play. I do believe that there is sufficient motivation for him to have a very good game to counter all the hype from HYPE (espn) on my man AE plus his teammates will want him to succeed. hatch can run and he's got a bigger line blocking for him. All this does it take pressure off him which is what Miles wants.

Without conceding the premise of your question, I would only point out that the NFL is full of star players, including quarterbacks, who played for small colleges. Look at this year's NFL Hall of Fame class, and where those guys went to school. It should come as no suprise that a school like Appalachian State can have a genuine superstar at a particular position. That said, he rates to hang 10 on the LSU defense.
