Anyone know if Zack Hess is done?

The abomination that has gone down at the end of these last two games got me thinking of great closers LSU has had. Was curious of how Wild Thing Zack Hess and how he was doing in the minors.

Elite freshman year. He could’ve been one of the best closers ever in college baseball if he just stayed there and kept developing in that role.

IIRC he had TJ or some other type of season ending injury/surgery so he’s probably still rehabbing.

No Paul Manieri killed his career by not recruiting pitchers and having to move Hess to a starter in 2018 because we had no one else

Zack had TJ surgery in February last year. He spent the entire year at the Tigers spring training facility and is in camp now. Started throwing bullpens about a month ago and facing batters last week. Velocity is 95 and climbing. More movement on his pitches than ever. Should break camp at AA. I dont think he's done yet.

The TJ rehab helps some guys throw harder post-surgery. Sounds like he’s still got gas in the tank.
