I was in grammar school but I can still recall attending the 2001 super regionals and how condescending Tulane fans were to LSU fans. How anyone can pull for these creeps baffles me.

I can guarantee you that if you went in to Alex Box or Tiger Stadium in Tulane gear you'd be saying the same thing about LSU fans. It'd actually be much worse I'm sure.

Anybody who know the history of LSU and the green slime would rarely root for those bastards.

I doubt that you really understand the history. I attended Tulane for 2 years in the 1980's before transferring and graduating from LSU. Except for a few students from Louisiana, almost every student attending Tulane since the mid 1970's knows absolutely nothing about any LSU vs. Tulane rivalry, and really don't care. Most of these students arrive at Tulane with ties to colleges from whichever state their from. For the last 40 years, the rivalry is completely one sided- LSU fans thinking that there is more to it than there really is.

The FACTS:

3/24/15 LSU 13 - Tulane 7
(19 hits for LSU)

4/21/15 LSU 6 - Tulane 0
(Combined 1 hitter for LSU pitching)

LSU has won 13 of the last 16 meetings.

I want LSU to beat Tulane twice more this weekend.

For the record, then I want LSU to beat ULL twice next weekend.

Against UNC-W, I gotta go with Tulane on this one. But if they make it to play the Tigers, it's lights out Toolame.

As a lifelong Tulane fan, I find it sad that the LSU/Tulane rivalry is what it is today. And I willingly admit, most of it is Tulane's fault. But that's another thought for another day.

But i'm personally offended that LSU fans would even consider rooting for Tulane for any reason. The baseball rivalry is pretty much all we have now, even though Rick Jones tried his hardest to ruin it by losing control of the TU program the last several years. Now that David Pierce has seemingly turned chicken shite into something resembling chicken salad, I can gleefully envision some more tough battles on the diamond in the very near future.

I'll be at Aleck Bocks on Friday night, in my Wave gear. And I don't want handshakes and well-wishes. I expect some good natured ribbing and maybe some bad natured ribbing as well.

I pray to sweet infant Jesus that we get one more round of Tulane/LSU coming up. I absolutely cherish the Wave/Tiger baseball matchups. Always have. Always will.
