Chavis, Muschamp, Steele, Grantham, etc.
Choose or name your best hiring candidate. Lord knows you guys hate every hire by Coach O anyway.

I don’t understand the need to defend the hire.
I’m all for giving the guy a chance (what else can we do anyway) and seeing how he works out. But to act like this hasn’t been a disaster of a process is burying your head in the sand.
How quickly we forget that Coach O’s entire philosophy for this job, and his promise, was to hire the best coordinators. It’s a high bar to set, but a necessary one considering O isn’t a Saban/Meyer etc type that can use his own expertise to control one side of the ball.
That makes coordinator hires more crucial than at most top programs, and so far it’s been very underwhelming relative to what he said he would do,

Are we picking DC candidates or do you want to wait and pick HC candidates when this fails next year?

Very well said. I agree with everything you say. At least they didn't just bail and hire from within after the first two rejections. The first two guys were very strong candidates. Jones looks like a little more of stretch but this might be the right place at the right time for him. As you said, because O isn't a Saban/Meyer type there's a lot more pressure on Jones to perform at an elite level. His main pitch for hiring him as a HC was that he was going to hire the best coordinators. One can qualify what "best" means but in a hire like this, it leaves the impression that O can't deliver on what he promised.
Maybe both O and Jones will step up and deliver. Here's hoping they do.

Question????????
When the cat from Cincy was hired to be the DC for the Bearcats was he a proven winner with a lot of demand for his services or was he a former young position coach who was given a chance to prove himself? I’m really asking this as I don’t know and have never heard of him until this year, well maybe a little last year but before midway through the 2019 season I had never heard of the guy before. Someone had to give him a chance so I truly feel O was in a no win situation here, however if these 2 coordinators work out he will be a golden God. If not he will be unemployed so there you have it.
Tiger fans are really hard to please though. I guess what they say about us really almost came true last year. The perfect season for an LSU fan 3 things need to happen. Go undefeated, win the natty, and fire the coach. Sad but how true it is it seems.

First off are you comparing a hiring at a mid major like Cincinnati to a hiring at LSU?
Second Jones is 41 years old. This isn’t a “young” hire.

41 is still young for a DC. He may not be "up and coming" at this point but he can still said to be "young" but not for long.
My concern is Jones looks like he'll just as likely be a career journeyman as he would be a solid DC.

Everyone that hates the hire. So they should list their preferred candidate. Go on record and lets see how they do next season on the job wherever they work.
