What’s funny is this board trashed him last year and said we wouldn’t miss him and that his play calling sucks. All the same stuff yall are saying about Sloan now
In 2022, we saw some of the same issues we saw under Sloan this past season. Inability to run the football consistently & redzone woes. It's harder to teach an old dog new tricks. Denbrock ultimately is going to be who he is at this point in his career.
If Sloan is going to continue to be the guy moving forward, he has to get better in few aspects of his scheme & play calling. He needs to be better at times adjusting to the players he has instead of just sticking his vision. Tweak certain aspects to highlight certain players strengths & hide weaknesses. Don't ask players to play roles that don't benefit the player & overall good of the team.
He needs to consult & study film of other offensive minds to get better redzone concepts because a majority of the red zone play design & play calling was vanilla & lacked creativity which lead to the redzone woes.
Find away to run the ball better. Yeah, the play of the offensive line in 2024 didn't help yet Sloan didn't help either with being very predictable. This aided in the redzone woes. He should look into possibly adding some concepts there as well.
Sloan is 38 years old. He's young. Hopefully he is open minded enough & is not set in his ways to where he can still grow, develop & get better in the offensive coordinator role. If not, his time here will be short.
