Been to Tennessee 3 times. Always stay in Gatlinburg. Cabins are reasonable, good restaurants, the leaves are turning in the park at that time of the year. Only 40 miles to Knoxville and the traffic has never been a problem. Great trip.

going this year, and have a day to waste that saturday. Any suggestions?

Don't remember much about the trip in 2001, I was drunk for a majority of the trip. ENJOY!

you may think everyone is joking about the stadium--biggest dump in the SEC, maybe the country--small seats, steep inclines to get to seats--awful for a university that size--Calhouns is great--good food and drinks--plenty of Tigers there. One thing that is cool is watching the "Volunteer navy" come up the river in their boats.

The most uncomfortable place to watch a game in America. They literally shove 35 people on a row that should seat 25. It's a nice trip for the natural scenery in the area. As far as the game day experience and atmosphere.....average.

It is great SEC road trip but try to get seats in the lower part of the stadium. The whole upper level isnt up to code and if one person on your row ate an extra corn dog that day, you'll know.

Stay in the Smoky Mtns and drive over. It's barely an hour at most and worth it to me. That alone makes it my favorite road trip to take. They have some nice cabins there for any type of person. I stayed in one a few years ago that had an arcade room including pool, darts, air hockey, and a bar. It was awesome.

The fans are usually friendly there and the food is pretty good.
