OP not sure if you’re doing this but I’m all set. Got tickets to both. Thanks for the idea. I just need some GT gear LOL. Or should I just wear my LSU kilt to the Ole Miss GT game too?
LSU gear

Love this idea and good seats are cheap for the Ole Miss game as well. I’m trying to convince the guys I’m going to Starkville with to do it.
Go for it, Jaydeaux.
Best I got was an NFL twofer back in 1996. Stayed with a friend in DC; we drove up to Baltimore for the Saints 1st ever game against the Ravens for noon, had some seafood afterwards, then drove back to DC. Redskins were on Sunday night football so we took the metro to RFK, got some tickets on the street right before kickoff, and saw that game.

When I was a little kid, LSU used to play Ole Miss in the afternoon in Jackson and State played Bama at night in the same stadium. My grandfather used to take me. This was in the 70s
Sorry just noticed a couple people posted the same thing before me

I wore my LSU gear to the Sugar Bowl last year when KState played Bama.

Columbia SC and Athens GA are just over 150 miles and give or take 3 hours apart.
It would be doable.
Also, Athens to Auburn is 175 miles, 3 to 3 1/2 hours, plus you get an hour extra with the change in time zones if you go from a Georgia game to Auburn game.

I did an NFL Double Header once when I was living in PA.
Preseason game at noon in Baltimore between the Giants and Ravens. Left there and drove to the Meadowlands for Jets vs Vikings...it was a fun day for sure.

quote:Staying with family in the Jackson area. 2hr drive to Starkville. Plan to get going about 7am. I have emergency backup in Oxford (floor of someone else’s Airbnb), but otherwise we’ll be driving back to Jackson from Oxford. Guesstimate we’ll get there by 1am latest.
Do you have a hotel or will you be driving in for the MSU game? If the latter, that sounds exhausting.

That was an exhausting trip, but we pulled it off! Left Davis Wade mid-4th quarter after Nussmeier's first 3-and-out. Hustled to the car and hit the road immediately. Was able to avoid getting entangled in any traffic. We did stop twice (bathroom break and to pick up some extra ice for the Ga. Tech crew), but by the time we got to the parking spot, we had maybe 30~45 minutes to tailgate before it was time to walk to the stadium. Got into Vaught stadium before kickoff, but not to our seats in time.
If you didn't watch the game: Ga. Tech is a terrible team, but kept it interesting until the 4th quarter. Tech mounted a great comeback late in the 3rd - long drive for a TD, then a stop, then another long drive, only to stall at that point. I'm not saying OM was ever in serious danger of losing, but it wasn't completely "over" until mid-4th quarter. The LSU offense we saw in Starkville would score on every drive against the OM defense that Ga. Tech saw.
After a brief meetup with some OM friends, we headed to the car for the long drive back to Jackson. Was in bed before the end of the Colorado 2nd OT.
My assessment is: it is not possible to make two SEC kickoffs outside of Starkville-Oxford, or Starkville-Tuscaloosa. Any other stadium, post-game traffic would have wiped out the tailgating time in Oxford, and but for that, we were in perpetual motion for 17 hours outside of watching football.
