That game was on one of the ESPNs. Loved watching that @ss Probst and his MTV team get that record snapped at home.

Even some Offshore BMs and some locals had 'outlaw or rogue lines' on it. Hoover was small chalk, forget the exact spread. I bet on JC too.

It's not uncommon for the De La Salle Concord, Massillon, South Lake Carroll, etc..to have lined games with some locals.

No I'm sayin Saban took decent recruits of Shula not the 4, 5 star varieties that he had built LSU into and went unbeaten back to back, how do you explain that? Miles clearly had the better talent and his teams played like shite, that's what I'm sayin.

He also went 6-6 with a team 2 years removed from a 10-2 season. And lost to ulm.

He has done a great job, no doubt, but sometimes things just don't come together like planned.

Also, I have no idea what their players star ratings were at the time but I have a hard time believing they had a roster full of 2 and 3 stars like you are saying.

Shula got some decent recruits, but went downhill fast because the talent wasn't topnotch like you are trying to claim, his last year he finished 6-7. I don't get all you Saban haters, say what you want, but he built LSU.

Saban did go 6-6 in his inaugural season, but frick that's to be expected, he was not playin with first class talent like you guys wanna claim. And y'all keep using that sorry ULM loss as an excuse to take shots at the man, Les Miles sorry arse should have lost to Troy or USL with all the talent he had. Saban built Alabama up quickly and look where they are, he is a college coaching phenomenom, he coached up Bama's average talent that was sprinkled amongst the good and had 2 unbeaten seasons, and now with his recruiting classes he has them cocked like a loaded gun.

when he came to LSU, not only was the cupboard bare, but the people like he said back when had to get out of this losing kind of mentality they had almost like Saints fans, so y'all keep talkin about the so so seasons he had while building LSU and actually people back then was happy to have some kind of success that he gave them back then because they weren't used to winning, but when he really started loading up the talent culminating in a MNC he made them a National powerhouse, something they never been before, suddenly every top recruit in the country wanted to come to LSU.

Miles continues to funnel in Saban's pipeline he started there, but the talent plays nowhere near the level Saban would have them playin at, and that has a lot to do with coaching. So go ahead and keep putting coach Saban down, but I'm grateful for what the man did for LSU, he made a bad decision leaving and admitted it, and another bad decision by signing with the enemy, but the man just wanted to get back into college coaching and Bama threw a boat load of money at him knowing what kind of coach he was, can't blame him for taking it, so if you wanna blame somebody blame Bama.

By every objective standard, Les Miles has been more successful at LSU than Saban was. The fact that Saban had success at Bama (or that he failed at Miami) is of no moment, and is comparing apples to rocks.

Les Miles won a MNC based upon virtual luck, fact. The fact that you guys keep defending his coaching shortcomings is mind blowin.

And Saban had no luck? Think back to how LSU got into the BCS Championship game. That took a bit of luck.

The fact that you keep trying to forget that Saban was damn lucky to even be in that game is mind blowin.

He got to the MNC game by winning his conference and conference championship game, how is that luck?

and he had only 1 loss, would have gone unbeaten like at Bama if not for Matt Mauck's frick ups against Fla., that fact that you are comparin this to Miles MNC run is mind blowin.

If any team wasn't deserving that year it was Oklahoma, but the sportswriters sucked their nuts like they did USC's.
