Another Take on LSU's Spring Game...

This is just too rich for RanterNation: An LSU "win" and a "loss" at the exact same time. This is a guaranteed wet-dream for the "Decliners" here. They can bitch about the loss and blame it all on Miles, Crowden, the OL and whoever the QB is and then bemoan the "winning" squad as underachievers because the "opponent" sucked and was ranked 754th in total offense in all FCS Spring games.
As for those of us who choose (and prefer) a different definition of a true die-hard fan of LSU football--and especially the players who work their asses off and deserve our unconditional support--it is possible to be rational and have realistic expectations with a positive attitude. This means pretty much putting last season in the rear-view mirror and moving on to 2010 (and still criticize and hold all the coaches and staff accountable when they screw up and when they aren't providing the players with the best opportunity to succeed).
However you look at it (with a few exceptions), nobody at TD.com knows more about football than other members, and hardly any Ranter who's dismissed as an "idiot," "moron," or being "delusional" actually is. The Spring Game is great on so many levels for everyone here, IMHO. I believe the game will be a good indicator as to how this year's squad will perform, and that we can evaluate how well Miles and his staff are doing to that point. Regardless of how it goes, it will be a good fix just to see some damn LSU football.

Oh, you're one of the super secret "true die-hard" fans. I'm very impressed.

Nope. Re-read the sentence, which says:
"As for those of us who choose (and prefer)a different definition of a true die-hard fan of LSU football." Which means, ALL of us here (unless someone's a fan of another team) are true die-hard LSU fans just as much as I am.
A "different definition" is just that. I never said mine was right or wrong, better or worse, I simply approach it differently. Does that help you?

on the crowton - crowden breakdown.
Ppl bitch at me on the espn boards for calling them out on "typos" as they call them.
but if you say "your an idiot" to me, i'm going to call you out every time.
on the OP's topic.
I am fully confident we will correct our offensive woes in 2010. If we don't, then there is always 2011

Yeah, that photo breakdown is priceless, and it's not a typo when a name is mangled consistently by the same person for two months.

Yeah, I liked it, too. Hey, if you can't laugh at your mistakes (or "typos"), you can't enjoy life. And to think you've been raw for 2 months about this and kept it to yourself. Maybe get a new hobby, increase your fiber intake or settle down with a new boyfriend? Whatever you decide, I wish you luck with a capital "F."

THAT was great. Happy to provide you with inspiration.

Eh, that probably came off worse than I meant it to be. You seem to be relatively new here. Just learn to roll with the punches and everything will be alright.

bump, in case anyone missed that awesome picture beatdown.

I like the cut of your gib as one famous person once said. Only problem is that on the pinacle of entertainment on the TD, ranting rates up there with fishin, fightin and well you know the other rantard past time.' Ranting IS a past time for many here and despite success they will find excuses to wallow in the misery of finding fault. Just enjoying the sport and appreciating the successes great or not so great will lend us a longer, less stressful life. So rant on rantards may your cordisol levels rise accordingly

Yeah, but can't take credit for it. Stole it from Elvis Costello...

Damn! There goes my "physician, heal thyself" reply...
No, it's all good. I apologize and I take back my insulting comments directed to you. I was surprised because I respect your views and assertions and usually agree with you. I would, however, like to transfer those comments to deserving recipients: "StreetDiction" and our esteemed partner in grime, "WestCoastTigah." Check out the epic thread that dude started, ranting about Gen. Richard/TAF/and firing coaches, and quickly and inexplicably somehow goes sideways and morphs into a sub-thread about M. Flynn's talent as an LSU QB. For your review and torment, here's the link: LINK
Appreciate your pep-talk and advice, but I've been a member for about six months (and lurked for about a year before that when my brother was a Ranter). I'm certain I've been here much longer than pricks such "StreetDickion" (joined Dec. 2009), "LeftCoastTigger," (who came aboard 24 hours after National Signing Day less than 2 weeks ago) and "ElCalTiger," who popped his cherry in this thread.
Look, there's nothing that these real jerks on the Rant can do to raise my temperature or blood pressure. Nothing. I really did like the photo display about CROWTON, though we all know damn well that 90 percent of us would have posted, "someone's got way too much time on their hands." I'm secure in my own skin and learned early and often they're are enough miserable "fans" that exist only to spread their misery to others. You can provide a link, or post something that many people didn't see or have time to wade through 15 pages to find it, and some a-hole instantly replies with: "germans." It's harmless and amusing, but these are the same children who also believe they somehow crush other Ranters by "calling them out," and this, from StreetFriction: "bump, in case anyone missed that awesome picture beatdown," or "getting owned." Please, give me a break.
Well, as I wrote in that other thread, glad I didn't get our favorite OC's name wrong in my "real" writing. On the bright side, it could've been worse--imagine if I had mangled Coach Mills' name...

Who said that? I can't place it and it's driving me nuts.
BTW, I do understand what you're talking about, but I'm vexed in trying to fully realize what they gain for their joyless attitudes and claim to be real fans of LSU football. Anyway, I learned long ago that this is a great site, but that no good thread goes unpunished at TD.com.
Thanks very much!
