their numbers are very similar though.
numbers may be the case but god damnit, 2007 was the best offensive season in the history of LSU football and Matt Flynn was our leader while 2009 was one of the worst I can remember in awhile with JJ as its leader. I dont even see how its remotely possible for someone to think they are even on the same level

These guys are not receiving the proper development. Or haven't yet. I really REALLY hope we smooth this out over the summer.

Wonder how the 09 squad would have fared with 3000+ yards rushing?

less statistical MF type numbers if were guessing..

I'm assuming you are suggesting that it would have taken JJ from mediocre to good,,, if so please keep it up, you are just proving my point further and keeping me amused.

Go look at the numbers yourself and tell me the major difference in production. Tell me what was dramatically different from 07 and 09.

same reason people want purple turf in TS.

lots of village idiots come here and type.

Serioulsy though.... people see what they want to see. There are a few posters here that hate JL and anything that makes JJ look better, to them is money.

If JJ would just step up in his leadership role and grasp the offense he can be a manageable QB for us. I see no reason why he can't.

He was manageable last year.

For as much as everyone barks for a "game manager" they finally get one and don't know what the frick to do with it.

eta: Yes, I know he made mental mistakes.

What's funny is that you and the poster you are quoting have provided exactly 0 evidence other than "Flynn is better! We won in 07, duh!"

Yet you are the one labeling me an idiot...

I agree he was managable last year. He wasn't our problem and I really beileve he won't be a problem this year either. He's got all summer to get going. I see no reason why he can't improve and be better.

I just really want this offense better as a whole.

Yeah, I agree totally.

And I'm not saying he was without fault. He definitely hurt us in the Florida game. He did some bad things. He has a bad feel for the pocket and a bad clock in his head.

But all those things don't mean he's a horrible QB.

WHY DO YOU CARE?

WHAT DIFF DOES IT MAKE?

HOW IS IT GOING TO MAKE JJ A BETTER QB TO COMPARE HIS NUMBERS TO A GUY THAT WAS HERE 3 YRS AGO?

I find it funny the nuber you should be intrested inthat you arent is 112.

This whole MF/JJ conversation is old, irrelevant and not gonna help your boy one fricking bit come august.

Actually, 112 is the number I've been talking about the entire argument.

The difference between 112th ranked offense and the 30th something offense we had under Flynn?

Not QB production. Run production.

But you, and many others, continue to ignore this.

I'll tell you what. Give me a week. I'm going to look through EVERY SINGLE play-by-play from 07 and 09. I'll come back to the rant with a full statistical report breaking down 3rd down conversions, 3rd and short conversions, down and distance comparisons between Flynn and JJ.

And then I'll put my findings up, whatever they are.

ETA: It's applicable only because people continually cite how great our offense was BECAUSE of Flynn, and how bad our offense was this past year BECAUSE of JJ.

OBU.......while I respect your tenacity. Please dont waste your time. You cant reason with any of these cats.

JJ had a decent soph campaign...yet we were horrible offensively. Some of this is on him, as any YOUNG QB.

What we need is support around him, which we did not have last year, and regardless of all the BIG CAT drills and all, there is no reason to think we should be better at running the ball this year. Maybe we will be some better, but I dont expect much. We shall see.

If you watch the games from the first half of the season and then watch them after that bye and Florida loss he looked alot differentlty. He really looked different in the Alabama game and I thought he played really really well in the Ark game. The way he handled himself after the interception was great and he really tightned up.

I like Jefferson and I hope he stays our starter. I look forward to him developing in the next few months and coming out leading us to victory againc UNC.

I am holding out hope that the 2 new starters on the right side will help us a lot.

Blackwell and Hurst are both bigger and have the reputation as road graters.

exactly

but....

tigrlee will be the first one to call someone on the rant a "stupid frick" when the stats and facts don't jive with his subjective opinions.

he has his agenda, and when he is proven wrong, all he has left is his "stupid frick"

I understand the frustrations with JJ.

Hell, I even began investigating numbers under the guise that he was horrible compared to Flynn, only to realize that wasn't the case at all.
