LSU and many others have played Thursday night games in the season.
A&M had a tradition of playing thanksgiving night for many many years. When accepted into the SEC the conference knew that was part of their history and their preference was to play every thanksgiving
And we have only played 2 thanksgiving day games ever, home or away. But lets allow A&M to come in and dictate what a core member of the SEC does when it comes to tradition.
That was their thing with texas, not us and not the SEC. They just want it back so they can piggy back onto another "rivalry" and a better athletic program.

core member
Dude seriously
I said it yesterday and will repeat.
LSU is an outlier in this conference. Night games etc, no one will back LSU on this because none of them want to play in tiger stadium on a Saturday night. None. And one vote is one vote. Zero shits are given by the conference hierarchy about core member or original member. Group think, everyone is equal.
Doesn't mean I like it or agree but it's reality and its not changing.

Why would we give a shite what they gave up. We are obviously sacrificing more here
Are we?
I'm sure all schools came to the table with realistic things they wanted in the schedule. A&M wanted a thanksgiving night game, LSU wanted bye weeks before it's 2 most important games. I'm sure they also both wanted some other things they couldn't get, buy they both got something they wanted.

LSU and CBS for 100% didn't want this. A&M 100% wanted this, and the SEC helped them out.
Please provide me whatever information you have saying who is broadcasting this game. I can't find any information saying that ESPN or any other non-CBS entity is broadcasting the 2014 game. Where did you get that information?

That decision has not be made because technically CBS could use their one night game a year on that game. I doubt it but could.

I do know the open their season on a Thursday at South Carolina, they also have only 3 true home SEC games.
Because they entered into a neutral site game with Arky in Jerryworld before expansion. Whose fault was that?

Don't give me that one vote shite. The sec didn't vote on our game with A&M

No shite. As if the rest of the SEC gives a damn when we play A&M.

That's like saying we get to vote on the UF/UGA game

in reality many of our fans just have no understanding of how contracts and inner workings of a conference of team members works
But you do?

the Aggies want the game on thanksgiving home and away
Who gives a frick what they want and what have they done in their history for the SEC to deserve to get what they want when compared to LSU?

It's not just about this game. It's so much more.
The Chicken Bowl fiasco.
The Bridge schedule bullshite.
The lack of home SEC night games.
And now this.
When will LSU come out on top on anything?

They have a ton of the TV market, it's why they are in the SEC. No SEC team got everything they wanted on their schedule. Compromises were made, you just don't know what those compromises were.

Apparently you do, so go ahead and enlighten us. You're so sure of it. What exactly is your position under Alleva?

You think it's a coincidence we got 2 bye weeks before our 2 most important games of the year?

This is laughable.

I sure didn't see anyone complaining when we were guaranteed a home night game against Bama in 2012 for having to play them at night in Tuscaloosa in 2011

How many years are we going to get 2 bye weeks before our two most important games. Were we not scheduled for two bye weeks next year?

What compromise did Texas A&M make? To play the game at night?
What compromise did Alabama have to make to get Georgia taken off their schedule? To have to play Kentucky?
If LSU is having to make that big of a compromise to a team in the conference one fricking year, then we are truly fricked.

Our bye week last year also happened to be before the biggest game of the year.
Oh yeah, same thing goes for 2011, but we're getting screwed!

I don't know. I don't know everything they wanted in their schedule. You do know that the SEC schedule is negotiated as a whole and not just on a series basis. LSU and A&M didn't sit down by themselves to determine when and where the series is played, it's all through the SEC with the rest of the schedule.

It's not that big of a compromise from the football team standpoint.

Idk, we'll see what happens when we figure out the schedule for 2105 and beyond.
