Well deserved, he was considered one of the very best offensive linemen for a decade which is my gauge for being a HOF player. There are far too many really good players on good teams that make it, that were never really considered best or one of the best at their position for a long period of time.

As much as I like Whitworth, I'm not really sure he is a HOF player. He has had a great career and has been a really good player for a long time, I just have never heard him referred to as best in the league.

I wasn’t referring so much about Super Bowls wins. In 15 years with only 4 pro bowls and 2 all pros. That’s not eye catching for OL to make it. Again... I believe he got snubbed multiple times and should have more individual awards. But that’s what the Hall looks at most with OL. I hope to God he gets in but it will be hard.

might take a while, NFL HoF committee just got around to voting Cliff Harris in last year, arguably one of the best safeties to play the game
