I think one of the biggest reasons that Bama doesn't get in is $$$$$. Money talks and bullshite walks. Money drives college football and certainly drives the bowl games. Joe Fan and Joe Media Member outside of the SEC is sick to death of hearing about SEC dominance, they were bored of the 9-6 defensive slug fest, and quite frankly don't want to give 2 SEC teams the lion's share of bowl payout money.
