I think he means that if you weren’t blind yourself, you would have learned the difference between your and you’re. It wasn’t really a good use of the word ironic though.
If you had called him uneducated then it would have fit.

That’s not ironic at all. It doesn’t even make sense. Being able to see doesn’t have anything to do with knowing the difference.

Yeah, when I saw it in real time, I thought he should have had it.
Then, they showed the replay from the sideline and the defender blatantly held Green's right hand down (though not as blatantly as that non-call in the Saints-Rams NFC Championship game).
