Man, I swear I heard that same thing or maybe I've seen it on a thread somewhere. Can't remember but I KNOW I've heard or seen that same exact subject somewhere.

U guys have a lot more confidence in our QB position than I do. I will be very happy if we can eek out an 8&4 season.

It's not confidence in the QB, it's confidence in being better equipped to mask QB deficiencies.

finishing 3rd in the SEC, winning 9 regular season games, losing to the #1 & #2 ranked teams in the 4th quarter and being in our other two loses with a chance to win at the end all while playing with one of the worst ranked offenses in D1 college football

1. IMO finishing 3rd in the SEC last year is no really big biggie. Last year the class of the SEC was UF and UA. UF and UA, only. Waaay, way below their gold standard, LSU just happened to be next in line (having just the season before begun dropping from that "class of the SEC" level).

2. You mentioned: "Losing to the #1 & 2 teams in the 4th quarter..." - that sits ok with you? Even DiNardo managed to beat a #1 team with less to work with than CLM has had. Operative word in your defense of LSU is "losing." CLM's LSU was not able to win either game, even with equal talent levels. What is missing? Some would say "COACHING" quality.

3. You say, "Being in our other two loses with a chance to win at the end..." as if this is the mark of champions? Maybe this is was intended to be sarcastic? It certainly doesn't sound like what LSU had been about for the first 6-7 years of the 21st century.

4. Finally you rightly noticed this: LSu had "one of the worst ranked offenses in D1 college football..." in 2009 -- and with all those talented recruits and recruiting classes? What does this tell you about CLM's coaching?

except at o-line. Sometimes players just don't pan out...it happens.

Did he secrectly coach the team from Miami?

It was the Ghost of Saban that led us to the best 3 year stretch and unaminous NC.

Miles actually did more with those frosh than Nicky. He could never put 2 10w seasons together here.
If anything, Saban's back door exit left us with only 13 signed and created a sizable pothole on the road to consistency, along with the RP factor.

LSUisOver9000, are you really that dense? The guys you list MADE their fortune, they did not WIN their fortune. Therefore, THEY are NOT "Tootless Timmy" as Toothless Timmy won the lottery.

BIG difference between building something from scratch no matter what your beginnings, as compared to winning the lottery.

Toothless Timmy wins the lottery, he'll be broke because he did NOT build something, he won it. Because he won it, and did not build it, he does not know how to handle it. Further he may LOOK like the guys you outline who actually BUILT something, but he's not like them.

Les Miles "won" the college football with what he inherited, he did NOT build it. To compare what he's done to what Saban built is not analagous. Les is an illusion when it comes to great coaches, he's not one himself.
