Agent Scandal and UNC Game in Atlanta

How will the distraction of the UNC player Marvin Austin being investigated (out for the game) impact the game in Atlanta? Any LSU distractions? Will in bond UNC more? Which team benefits more?

LSU benefits of course by him not playing, but he is a leader of their D also. I can't hurt LSU in any way IMO.

Everyone is saying LSU would win with him. If he's out, that only puts more pressure on LSU to win.

I look at it like this, imagine if we loss Nevis. Do you think it helps our team win in any way?

...It only hurts UNC.
Now, we can debate how much it hurts. Losing any big time player is a loss. How much a difference will remain to be seen.
But, there is no arguement that can be made that it helps UNC.
Losing starters and the distraction this creates only helps LSU.

If this scandal drags more players into it, I am afraid an LSU player will be suspended as well. I might just be paranoid (I hope) but it is a concern.

Agreed, this is more likely to create division within the team. Some will side with Austin and some will side with the NCAA.

These big ganes in the Dome have launched Bama the last 2 years and provided them with a boost in the polls. I look for it to do the same for LSU. How will a damged UNC team hurt us wi the pollsters?
I think it will be an early quality win and the suspensions be forgotten as the year goes on.

Since agentgate most places have LSU -1 with options to buy half points...

Miles is the luckiest bastage on the face of the earth. LSU will win as a UNC player slips on an oil spill from jerry curl juice and Miles will explain the oil spill as causing LSU to play very sincere at the thought of longevity in relation to the emphasis on academics.

DL is the deepest spot on our squad....if we can "afford" to lose a star anywhere, it is there
and I absolutely think this will bring the team together and have them more focused for the season, whether Marvin is suspended or not

BigDaddy, I agree with you. From what has been reported so far, it is obvious that the agents setting this party up were trying to get the top players to attend. It also looks like they were concentrating on SEC schools. Since LSU has some high profile players, I am concerned that some of them were invited to this party. Hopefully, they were smart enough not to attend. We shall see.
