My expectations are low after watching the spring game. Besides the running game, the offense looks just as out of synch as it did during the last two years. Hopefully, the defense will carry us.

Of course, I actually ENJOY LSU football.
LSU football has been very, very good to me!
The past decade has been just bout as good as it can get.
9 wins, a national ranking, a 3rd place finish in the SEC, and a major bowl invite at the end of the season is not going to have me jumping off any cliffs. Others can do as they wish........

You really want to knock the strength of the SEC in football? It was the #1 power conference in college football in 09. It's SOS as a conference was ranked #1. It's winning percentage in non-conference games was #1. It was a strong enough conference to be awarded 10 bowl bids for the 1st time in its history. Sounds like there must have been some good teams in the SEC this year to me, but each to our own.
Do you think anyone who follows the conference believes UGA, UT, and AU - traditionally very strong teams - competed at the level they have in the past 5-10 years? LSU did not beat any team that was above average, so 4 of the traditionally top six SEC teams had substandard years, no matter what the final records indicate. People actually believe the SEC was up last year? Who cares about teams going to substandard bowls, that is no barometer of a good program these days, instead it points to mediocrity of an expanded bowl slate.

How about our babies on D playing Lights Out!!! Minter a billion tackles, Mingo is going to be special, Loston Pick 6, Davenport is big, Downs also big, Mo Claiborn looks like a P.P. clone.

Do you think that guy/gal standing on the stage a month or so ago getting the bronze metal hung around their neck gives a damn that 4 years before their time would have them in 4th, 5th, or 6th place?? I don't and if you do, so be it.
The SEC is the best conference in college football and and LSU came in 3rd in the best college footall had to offer this year. Would 1ts or 2nd be better...yes, but 3rd in the best is not chopped liver and is a reason to be proud of your teams effort. If you aren't, so be it.

After seeing the spring game...
1) Hope I'm wrong but the running game looks average.
2) QB nothing to be said here
3) WR's average
4) Defensive backfield looks strong
5) Coaching suspect.
4-5 losses this year and LM is retaied.
1) I think that you should give the running game more credit, the guys were runnning very nice. Ford and Ridley will be better than most think IMO.
2)I'm still trying to figure this spot out. If there is a problem this year, then it will have a lot to do with position IMO.
3)Seriously, average?
4)+1
5)...+1?
Maybe two or three losses tops (UF, Bama, and Ark.)
