So he says that it is all just rumors and stuff. But then he goes on to say, I'm just trying to get in there and get right academically.

MMMM. Seems those are not rumors but truth.

thank you!

This team is more than just playing football they are "student athletes" all of these people saying how Les is horrible for his treatment of LEE let me paint a picture for you.

Going into the Bama game Les finds out about Lee's grades and its a touchy situation that however it happened he may not be eligible for post season play. This is in his head and he messes up on top of messing up in school. He gets benched not just for messing up but maybe just maybe Les is being a GREAT coach and GREAT mentor making sure this young man realizes that his academics are important and teaching this young man that he could jeopardize his team by not being eligible. Same thing he did with JJ by kicking him off the team for the first 8 games.

Both games required not turning the ball over. Which JJ didn't do

He tried his best...UGA just refused to catch the ball. He threw 2 that should have been picked, and two more that could have been. And he also had another desperation flip while in the grasp, that tuned out to be his best play in the game...but a very dangerous one.

There is so much fail in here, I don't know where to start. No one knows if there is any academic issue or the severity of it. What is known is that Lee is eligable to play. Also, JJ was suspended for 4 games...not 8.

If Miles knew that Lee was not going to be eligible, he would be getting no snaps and Mett would be getting some meaningful snaps to get ready in case JJ gets injured.

Why is it only JJ's "almost" int's count? Lee threw a ton of "almost" int's this year, including against WKU. If the team is getting the same results on the scoreboard, why should it matter?

Wow, what an exaggeration. All QBs throw picks, and Lee had a few near picks...a "ton", no way.

Pretty much every game he threw balls up for grabs that were straight up dropped or hit the db in the head or something because he didn't look back for the ball. And don't tell me the one's the db's didn't find in the air don't matter considering how much hate JJ got for his flip to Ware last week that fell 3 yards in front the closest defender.

People create a alternate reality to attempt to explain what they see. Pretty much what you just did. If you don't know, don't spread rumor.

This is a classic example of "putting one down to raise another."

That's funny considering my entire point of every post I've made on the JL/JJ topic is to point out the hypocrisy. Here's how I know this is all about you being a Lee homer, I agreed with you on something and got no response, but you've responded to just about everything I said about Lee.

How the heck did I "raise" JJ? Just pointing out that Lee did the same thing this guy is hating on JJ for. Nothing I said "raised" JJ. Hell, I think Mett should be the starter. By the way, everything I said in that quote is true.

This isn't pointing out hypocrisy. I don't believe you understand the meaning of the word.

Lee can say whatever the hell he wants, words are easy. Look at his actions on the sideline. After Jefferson's td run against Arkansas, Lee looked like someone shot his dog and didn't even look at Jefferson when Jefferson ran past him on the sideline. He looks that way everytime they show him, and pretty much hangs out by himself on the sideline.

I think that was part of a debate about Lee being classy and all about the team and Jefferson being selfish. I would say that's pretty hypocritical for someone praising Lee and bashing JJ to say seeing as how every shot we get of Lee is him looking like he doesn't even want to be on the team.

If you were in Lee's shoes you would probably be a little ticked off too while watching games on the sideline knowing that when you had games like JJ was playing you were yanked very quickly and JJ is allowed to have series after series to right the ship.

If Lee wasn't ticked off about his playing time, that is where the real concern should be because it means he has no desire or passion to want to go back in the games and be a contributor again and why would you want that type of player on your team.

I agree with this. Just like I defended JJ in this thread for saying he wanted to be the starter. The point is, JJ gets called selfish while Lee gets called competitive. And I don't remember seeing JJ on the sideline looking like Lee. Lee looks like he wants to take his ball and go home because he got picked last.

JJ's lack of playing time is no where near the lack of playing time that Lee has recieved.

JJs first game back he scored a TD and played in 8+ snaps. Since that first game snap count only increased.

Since the Alabama game Lee's snap count has dwindled to 1 per game and that 1 being a kneel down.

What's clear in the article is that there is absolutely something to all of the rumors swirling aroung regarding Lee's academic status. He says he's "confident" he'll be eligible, not "I know I'm eligible and there are no problems with my grades". He's saying just enough to allow for the possibility that he might not be able to play in January.
