Because we didn't cave to A&M's ridiculous offer? We gave the man a raise. He had it on his table before A&M was in the picture. He used A&M to try and get more, Alleva didn't budge. I'm with Alleva on this one. He was offered plenty enough money. 8 losses in two years doesn't give you the right to request the moon.

You're worried about 400000 when we are paying a subpar head coach millions?

It is petty, but he acted like a jackass, mailed it in for the bowl game, and worst of all, treated the players like dirt. They didn't have anything to do with this bullshite. He should have been up front with them. So go ahead and sue him.

He handled the situation like a punk bitch. I know Alleva is a tool but come on. Chavis bails last minute, telling recruits and their families he's staying beforehand. Also waiting long enough to try and screw us in our search for a replacement. Dude owes LSU.

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to know where you and tmc or whatever are admitted, because that's a lot of words between the two of you to say you have no idea what that contract says.

You need to take a pill and let the Chavis stuff go...

quote:

It's very unethical to stab in the back the man that saved your career in 2009. The first words out of your mouth when the plane lands is, "I can't wait to work with a good offense."

He didn't stab anyone in the back. He left because they didn't give him a contract he wanted. That was his prerogative.

quote:

Where the frick was he in 2013 when LSU marched up and down the field at UGA only to watch his defense surrender 48 points?

Will Mal Moore play hardball with Saban next time and say "Remember that time when Auburn got 600 yards, then Ohio St scored 42 on a huge stage"? No, Saban is good at what he does even with those games on his account.

quote:

There are assistant coaches on LSU's staff who signed their contract because he told them all he wasn't leaving LSU. The crybaby whines about not being paid more than 6 months if the head coach was gone. Just who the frick does he think he is?

Now you are making up facts... The story has been out there for awhile and never did I see anyone correctly report that he was staying. It was widely reported as a contract dispute. As for who he thinks he is... he probably thinks he is a person who can chose to bargain for things he wants or doesn't want in his employment contract.

quote:

He made a living off of obscene talent, which he didn't recruit by the way because he's "too good" for that. The last two years that talent was gone and Chief got exposed.

He had the #15 national Defense in 2013 and top 10 in 2014. If that's getting exposed, sign me up for that exposure at UT.

Look, we get it. He left your school, and you are mad. But he's going to be in Texas doing a great job like he has for nearly 20 years as a coordinator. This flipping out and acting like he's some type of overrated deviant just makes you look foolish.

Chavis is a solid defensive coordinator. I'm not sure solid leads to top 3 paid assistant in the country.

I'm not making up facts. Why do you think Brick Haley wasn't on that plane that landed in College Station today?

Probably because he wasn't invited. You do realize that Sumlin just finished a game with a defensive staff that coached the game other than Snyder who was already fired. I'm sure when/if the make room on the staff they will make a run at Haley.

He's puffing up his new job. I'm sure the quote isn't being used to criticize Miles, he's talking about Sumlin.

The only playcallers with resumes in the same ball park are Foster, Muschamp and Saban. He's going to get money in the neighborhood of Muschamp and Foster. The LSU wasn't ready to adjust to the market and lost him. Bottom line.

So you should realize you have no idea what that contract says without seeing it.

He's actually really simple defensively and that's fine. He's a good defensive coordinator.

quote:

“I pretty much knew everything that LSU was coming with before the snap of the ball,” Prescott said in reference to his preparations of the matchup. “Third-and-long, I just was scrambling, and I found Jameon and he did the rest.”

He's not irreplaceable by any stretch of the imagination.

Correct. I've dealt with these type of contract before though. That's why I said what I said was "typical" not "specific" to this contract.

By the way, if you want to look at the deal you can get it. LSU is a public institution.

Does the TAF hold a seperate contract or is it all funneled through the athletic department contract?

Agreed... I was going more by results, not "prettiness" He far outperformed Monte Kiffin with the same group of players.

Again, using a 1 game picture to describe someone's season or career is unconvincing. I can pull 2 games from Saban this year that were way worse than LSU's game vs. Miss St. and he's had 3 #1 Recruiting classes in a row, however, He'd be very hard to replace as a defensive leader at Alabama.

Deals are signed with the institution. There is base compensation from the school and outside "additional" pay that comes from booster groups or media obligations.

Ah, makes sense.

Think there was likely a clause that said verbally accepting a position would constitute a contract breach?

Wasn't using the quote as a 1-game sample. Was using it to say he's simple in his game planning and play calling.

The fourth quarter blown leads, Cam and Auburn's 500 yard rushing day, the 2014 Auburn performance, the 2014 Notre Dame, the 2014 Mississippi State performance, the 2012 Ole Miss performance, the 2013 Georgia performance, etc.

Those would be examples of bad coaching performances.

1 game? I know you don't follow LSU, and that's fine, but I can list about 3 games from every year (sans 2011-12) and show you where we have to win shoot outs. Instead of taking away those 2 or 3 games a year, how bout we take away the 3 rent a wins each year that we hold to less than 200 yards and see what the defensive stats look like?
