But we are LSU fans, so we've put up with this our whole life's right??
I fricking HATE this generation's insistence on weaponizing the victim mentality...

I think none of what you said is true, but I think overall ESPN could employ some better commentators. I love Fowler but he's started to slip the last few years mentally (it's been strange). Herbstreit isn't what he used to be and I think he's stretched thin from a preparation standpoint. You could argue the B-squad with McElroy and that other guy are just as good, but even they are beginning to sour on some people. They could use some new blood tbh.

Fowler and Herbie are about as professional and even when it comes to calling college football as there is.
And even to add to that, they have both been highly complimentary of LSU for years. Quit bitching and just enjoy the fact that we have a good booth on the call.

Fowler is a pro and Herbstreit is also top shelf. That's a prime time crew
Fowler’s tone and presence is solid, but he struggles with play by play at times. It’s not horrific but I would say it occurs more than most.

I don’t think he’s slipped, he’s just not a great accurate play by play man. ESPN let him step away from Gameday so that he could call games, but make no mistake about it, he’s never been great at it.

sean mcdonough is the pbp man in that group. He's my favorite of all of them. He's professional, accurate, and not an obnoxious nutjob like Tessitore. He's also unafraid to call out coaches, conferences, officials, etc when they are doing something ridiculous. For example, he often gets annoyed when a play happens that clearly could be reviewable...then the officials waste a bunch of time before stopping the action to review the play...when they could have been reviewing it the whole time.
