. LSU is 9-4. Is that good enough or not?
No. Its not good enough at all.
If you want to go back to the middle of the pack joke LSU football of the past, then I'm sure
9-4 is just dandy...

Why should Miles give a shite, its a contract that LSU has to honor or pay up

Actually I don't give all that much a crap about 9-4 -- what I am more concerned about is record against UF, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. That is the measure.
Last two years, it is not good. And the losses to Arkansas in 2007 and 2008 still make me cringe.
I also, if you'll read the post, was not suggesting that 9-4 was good enough. I was saying that you can't reinvent the record to 6 - 7 or 11 - 2 or anything else you or anyone wants it to be.
Hitorically, if you'll research, 9 - 4 is pretty damn good for and LSU team and for most SEC teams.
But what do I know?
The record is what it is. Season done. 9 - 4 good enough or not? What is good enough for you in the SEC?
Just curious -- do style points count? What game was LSU blown out of? When did they not compete? When and where exactly were they out hustled? What is good enough?
Truth is most teams would take close loses to UF, Alabama, and PSU. What should LSU standard be?
And to get back to SFP's original question -- with a close loss to UF, and a close loss to Bama, and a close loss to PSU -- is it honorable for him to leave? Is the team closer to beating these teams next year than they were last year or this year? The UF score was certainly a lot closer this year than last. The bowl game was no blow out even with our pitiable high school offense.
I think you are, my friends, like a lot of wounded Tiger fans. Angry. But the big picture is more complicated than simply emotion. The complexities of winning in the SEC are greater than most of us can imagine. Ask Urban Meyer. It will break a man.
So what is honorable?
Again, I'd keep the two new guys and scrap the rest of the staff. What would you do?
Is 9 - 4 with 4 tight losses and a couple tight wins good enough or not? Is the team closer to being great next season or farther away?
