Any word on Ware's hamstring injury?

I haven't heard anything but I saw him, I'm sure you did too, walking around on the sideline with no problem.

I'm guessing that they just didn't want to take a chance with him getting dinged up anymore in light of next week's game. He'll play next week. I'd bet the farm on it.

A quarterback that's a passing threat, is a runningbacks best friend. Stack eight in the box, a running quarterback does you no good.

but in a goal line situation you cant throw it downfield and the box is stacked by default...so guess who will be more effective?

In my opinion we would have scored a lot more against Moo State had we had JJ, we had to settle for a lot of FG due to red zone failures in that game

The Ridley/Jefferson duo was certainly our best offense last year.

Could you remind me what our offense was ranked last year?

Possibly but why would I be talking about some Auburn player?

I'm talking about a guy on the LSU roster right now.

It's crazy the lack of respect Lee gets.

He has thrown a touchdown in 5 straight games to start the year, and the nation thought well enough of the team without JJ to rank us very high and involve us in every discussion of the national title.

He's turned the ball over once.

I think JJ helps, but it is sad when people discount the job Lee has done this year

I think some of the posters here have researched this and it seemed like the RBs averaged more per carry with JJ than with Lee.

Nope. That is incorrect. It was shown there wasn't a difference when both got an even amount of snaps.

I'll try to link it.

If your taking about the 117th rated passer last year save it.

No. Not referring to that either.

I would tell you but you've been a jerk on here most of the day. You'll just have to wonder.

It wasn't a big difference, and I'm sure they were cherry picking when I saw the stat.

FWIW Lee improved his YPA today, and now has completed 59% of his passes for 7.34 YPA, 7 TD and 1 INT.

It definitely can improve, as some of Lee's throws have been off this year and the WR have had plenty of dropped balls that could have/should have been caught. Lee has done a great job this season and we have scored a ton of points without JJ. Hopefully he can help us with his running in the thick of SEC play

I agree, considering todays performance by Lee would be considered above average compared to all JJs starts last year.

When posters say that LSU doesn't need a running QB because LSU has RBs, they miss the point. LSU's RBs tend to gain more yards on their own carries if the QB in the game is a threat to run.

Is having a running QB that can't throw the same as having a running back that can't pass?

Guess that's wt makes Richardson so good 'eh??
You don't need a running qb to be successful. And no this is not me saying I don't want Jefferson

LSU averaged a half yard more on each rush last year than its averaging this year.

And if you compare Jefferson's last four starts to Lee's last four starts, the difference is one yard per carry.

And almost a full yard less per rush in 2009 (JJ's best season) than last year

About 20 more ypg through the air so far this year

eta: And only 2 turnovers in 5 games if I'm not mistaken. I remember a fumble against Oregon and an interception against Moo

It was cherry picking from both sides, but it might have been slightly better dependent on who was at QB.

The two games I remember looking at, since they were the two games both played significant snaps and neither was injured (Lee got hurt early in the Auburn game and Auburn knew it), I looked at the UT and UF games. In the UT game, RBs had a decided advantage while JJ was under center. Against UF it was the other way around. I remember looking only at RB/WR rushing stats with the two at QB.

That said, Lee's completion percentage dropped today, but he got screwed by 8 drops in the game. I think he finished 8/21 in the game, but should've been more around 13/21 for 200+ yards if some of the drops don't happen.

That said, LSU will need JJ at times in the games coming up and it is nice to have him back.
