Same thing if they run a dime package to stop the pass, except he beats them with his legs. Stay neutral in a base defense and he has the threat of the whole arsenal (run, hand off, pass), which will keep most defenders at home in their gaps rather then freezing them on PA, which he can do as well plus the added bonus to freeze them with the read option.
