A change needs to be made but we may be making the wrong change!

Just for thought:
Like many of you I like Miles and if he would make a few changes personally and with coaching staff I could consider keeping him.
The problem is our AD does not have the skill set and maybe even the "real" authority to manage CLM.
Maybe the powers that be should consider that ALEVA is the wrong man for LSU, hire an AD with the skills set to manage CLM and make sure CLM knows he works for the AD--oh and allow the AD to have full authority over CLM- it would not work any other way
In every business there is always another option if you just think outside the box

Did you ever try to manage someone who didn't want to be managed and/or change as necessary.
If that is the case here, then changing ADs will not make a difference.

exactly what would an AD do to change CLM?

What does that even mean?

An athletic director's job is to make the athletics profitable for the university, not to micromanage the coaches.

What school has an AD that "manages" the head football coach?
What does that mean, but really though are you serious?

So you want the AD setting the game plan, designing the practice routine and calling plays during the game. Interesting thought.

And try to hire coaches that win championships on a national level

I am going to guess that Miles' contract with LSU makes him head coach, with all the authority that name implies.
That's the only way any decent coach would take the job and the only way to obtain accountability for the results.
Les has a lot of admirable traits. Flexibility apparently is not one of them.
If you want to materially change the product you see on the field you will need a new Head coach.

I hate Alleva, but he is not the reason we are putrid on offense and are squandering away one of the greatest players to wear the P&G.

So Miles avoids any responsibility, his boss gets fired. In the real world that is the monkeys running the zoo, and it would only further empower Miles to snub any and everyone.
I dint think any of what you said is accurate btw, but if it was your solution sucks

Our last two ADs hired coaches that won championships on a national level. The only thing Alleva's done so far is not can the two that's were holdovers from a previous regime.

If Aleva cannot beat BAMA he may be on the hot seat.

well, alleva has refused the contracts of the oc and dc in consecutive years. how many ad in major college football programs have done that. that is too envolved and micromanaging.

Is Alleva preventing our offense from throwing screen passes?

A winning program thinks out of the box
A winning coach thinks out of his comfort zone
It is the job of the program to keep the coach performing at his highest level for the sake of the program.
Most programs fail because they treat coaches like mini Gods and allow them to live in a silo world without proper oversight.
Managing a coach does not mean micro management. You cannot manage what you cannot measure.
Changing the philosophy of management would most likely require and AD who thinks out of the box.
If an AD only has the function of of making money then we should never complain about losing as long as we are making money

I'm not even sure you know what point you're trying to make. That is the longest post saying absolutely nothing that I maybe have ever read.

So when it comes to winning ... all things in moderation, except net revenue
We may be succeeding
