From the last scrimmage:

quote:

Scrimmage stats: Jefferson - 15-25 100 yards TD, Lee - 5-14 111 yards, Mettenberger - 6-11, 71 yards 2 TDs.

So he didn't have the yards, but he did have a better completion percentage and more touchdowns.

In the spring game:

Jefferson 4-14 with 1 pick, 102 yards, 0 TDs
Lee 9 -`14 1 pick, 63 yards, 0 TDs
Mett 5-8 86 yards, 1 TD

While true... if you can't do it in practice there is no way you will be able to do it in the game. Not saying any of them can't do it in practice. Just stating a fact.

True, but look when that was....just sayin. Lot of work has been put in since then. I think our QB situation will be the same as the past 2 years. But, we have two good QB's to build around after this year is over.

More than double sacks vs touchdowns

" You guys realize Mett was also accused of a serious crim at Georgia??"
You guys just think he's a savior to the program. If he was flawless and as fantastic as you guys think he is, he would be #2 behind Lee.

There's a reason he's #3.

I swear to god if someone says something about the mythical "Miles' Seniority favoritism," I am just going to snap.

So we can't talk games or practice.

by your logic, the coaches should make jefferson, lee, and mett all paper rock scissor for the start since past performance is no indication of future performance IYO.

Well, in that case, what type of deoderant does Les use against Florida? How many deoderants does he have in his office and which ones are labeled with certain teams to use on those days.

Hell, I heard on the radio a quote from Miles saying they are moving on basically as if they weren't playing, the worst case scenario thing. But one lifted direct quote, it's hard to tell, but that indicated JJ wasn't in the mix if you take the one sentence at face value, which I paraphrased. Any-fricking-way, it's a messed up situation right now. Not sure what to believe at this point.

Yea, we can talk practice. But it doesnt have that game momentum, enviornment, etc. Until any of the boys are under pressure, we wont know. By game 3, we will know who should be starting. Tough 3 games right off the bat. UO, Moo State, WV.

Recent practice reports were saying mett was tearing it up

People need to realize that these practice reports come from the first 15-20 minutes the media is allowed to watch ... essentially a warm up period.

Practice reports mean squat unless the entire practice is observed.

I am a fan of Jordan Jefferson. I have never said anything negative about him. I cheer for him on the field and I hope he is successful in life. If he made a mistake recently, he should be punished. However, I do not feel like his life should be ruined. I hope he graduates.

At QB, he played very OK for a Soph. He had very good talent around him in 2010 and regressed. I don't know why but he didn't play particularly well.

I have NEVER booed Lee or said anything bad about him. I thought he was treated very unfairly in 2008. Although Jefferson played better than Lee at the end of the season, I still had high hopes for Lee. The game that really surprised me was the 2009 LA Tech game. Tech sucked and LSU was at home. Lee played very poorly. In 2010, I think we all know he made some very key plays for LSU but he still showed poor footwork and seemed panicky at times. I don't know that I've ever seen a QB less mobile. That's obviously the big difference with Jefferson and why I would take my chances with him over Lee.

As for Mettenberger I've never said he's the savior or will win 3 National Championships for LSU. I don't really claim to know shite about how good he is. But from what I've heard from UGA fans and his JUCO stats, there is NO reason to believe he sucks. I think people forget there is a very limited amount of practice time for the coaches to work with these kids. With Krags coming in new and two Senior QBs on the roster, there is no reason to think that Mettenberger really got a chance. The coaches HAD to spent a lot of time with the two Seniors.

It is so funny how fans are so polarized on most issues and things are so b&w. The truth is often in-between. Of course Miles wants to win and plays the best players 90+% of the time. He also wants to show some latitude and respect for players who have worked hard and have game experience. Further, QB is a position that you really need your starter to have confidence and coaches don't like to yo-yo (other than Spurrier). Kids do get the doghouse for various reasons. It's not like they have made Mett third string intentionally but he probably hasn't been given the shot Cam Newton was at Auburn with no real incumbent (yes I know who Kodi Burns is).

Last point if you are losing someone that played great at any position the previous year, they're tough to replace. If said player didn't play well, they are probably easy to replace. I am NOT bashing JJ. But based off of last year's stats, it is very likely that Mett would have had better stats than 4-9 in the regular season. Most QBs in the nation did, why not met?
