It's not just that it was a PI called and then reversed. Doucet had no chance to get to the ball and that was the reason it was tipped. The tip happened as a result of the interference, so claiming it was tipped to nullify the PI was retarded.
The biggest issue was that Daniels' INT earlier in the game was called back for the SAME exact play. That is the bigger issue people aren't remembering. He picked it off, then they called PI on the CB (can't remember which one) for contact on the Barn WR.
That was the injustice. The inconsistency along with all of the other BS calls, especially overturning Hester's catch on 4th down. It was definitely not irrefutable evidence.

I don't remember that one. Guess I'll have to dig the DVD out of the cabinet and watch that damned game again.

Of the 2006 LSU team, I prefer the tv broadcaster/former NFL players, NFL scouts, wiseguys and sharpies,etc..remarks..
"If Florida is the best team in the land, then LSU is surely team 1A".

cite the" opposing 'receiver' in the path of the ball" rule you think you understand . . . Quote it here verbatim. We'll wait.

It's been three years. Get over it. We all agree that it wasn't pass interference and probably was defensive holding. Stop being a bitch.

This one and the Hester fourth down out of bounds fumble that was ruled incomplete were the two most blatantly blown calls. Yet somehow everyone wants to focus on the two late PI calls (or no calls).

Seriously, that was a hell of a team LSU had in 2006. Maybe the best from the 2002-2007 period. You guys were better than us that year. We won that game due to the home crowd, stupid play calling by LSU, and yes we did get the benefit of the doubt on several close calls. Not to the extent LSU fans claim, but to some extent. And if you want to go down that route, LSU got the benefit of several close calls in 2007 including an outrageous spot that may have changed the outcome of the game. shite all works out unless you are a ranter IMO.
That game will always be one of, if not my all time favorite AU/LSU game due to the incredible hits and the man on man brutality of that slugfest.

That 2007 3rd down spot vs Aub was the most egregious call for LSU I've seen in possibly my lifetime.

Defensive holding would have been an acceptable call, but there was no pass interference. NC_Tigah can post that picture all he wants, but he has no picture of a pass interference.
then the interception we had earlier in the game in front of a pass interference call should've been waived off as well...

actually the reason it was tipped was because Russell threw 3 seconds late and 15 yards short...

Auburn fans can complain about the spot, but in reality it was a 3rd down play, and would've resulted in 4th and inches. Miles would've gone for it anyhow.
Furthermore, it wasn't like two crucial BS calls on LSU in 2006 where both occurred on 4th down killing LSU drives (Hester Fumble and INT that was nullified after review).
As for the 6 men on the line, the ref screwed up and the video showed it. A player was blocked, and if I recall correctly that is a reviewable play, like the ball being tipped. What isn't reviewable are motion penalties like offsides, false starts, PI, holding, etc. Penalties about number of men on the line (like 12 men on the field) CAN be reviewed, just like delay of games can.
It was also the right call to pick up the flag, so Auburn fans can cry about it all they want, but not screwing LSU out of a TD because the ref ignored a player on the line, was the right thing and correct thing to do based on the rules.

Oh but the INT was waived off because of PI. That's the beauty of it. People can complain all the want about it but the exact same play happened with the roles reversed and only one difference. LSU actually picked off the pass, and got it nullified by penalty. Auburn got the penalty nullified but since it was 4th down it would've been the same result since it was turnover on downs. Instead they called it a "Tip" and somehow an INT isn't a tip.

Are you serious? After 3 years, your loser arse is still writing small novels on here about it?
That is pitiful.

I agree, it was a fantastic game. But isn't it aggravating that such a great game was tainted by questionable officiating throughout the entire game?
