I think the whole game plan was just that. Neutral and conservative. I believe the playbook will start to open up the next few games and by the time we get to UGA, things will be looking much better.

I agree with this, as far as the secondary is concerned. The safeties were both found bundles of yards down field every snap, and the corners were constantly giving up a 10+ yard cushion to the receivers.

But the poor tackling can not be changed by scheme adjustments sadly.

It isn't a problem with the scheme but either a coaching deficiency, or a lack of discipline, but Defensive ends and outside linebackers crashing down to the middle of the field giving up containment happened nearly every single play. That UW running back will be by no means the best LSU will face, and he somehow beat all the defensive players to the sideline and turned the corner on them.

I do prescribe to the idea that Chavis will introduce more varied blitz packages, and hopefully much needed stunts on the D=line. The D-line's production was a huge disappointment. Granted Locker was very mobile, but going up against UW's O-line and not really pressuring him in the pocket very often was quite disconcerting.

i am proud of our team for the halftime adjustments and winning a game at 1am BR time. Even if we beat U-Dub 100-3, there would still be people on here bitching about those 3 points.

I can't decide if Wash is better than people expect (although they can't really get any worse), or if we might not do as well as expected.

USC plays at Wash in 2 weeks. I think that's gonna really give us a good perspective of what type of team we played.

True. One has to believe that W's coaches will be very motivated for USC, as well as well versed in their schemes ... could be a surprise.

All that said, if USC's running game just takes it to them I will be very upset. USC has the inexperienced QB, and we know they would rather put the game on the running game's shoulders. If USC can successfully do that while LSU failed miserably, until very late using Keiland, it will be a beacon of things to come. Especially considering LSU has to play in the power run conference.
