By the way, it's the NFL Combine times that are slower. No one runs as fast as they can at the combine, not even Chris Johnson, it's set up for you to run slow. Ask anyone that's done it.

No shite. Thats my point.its set up right. Its track conditions.indoor so wind aided isnt an issue. Come on man. The nfl has state of the art equipment. They do every thing that helps them pick the right players and that includes accurately measuring theor athleticism and speed. They dont use crap equipment.the nfl 40 is the most accurate 40 time there is for football.

Bruh can you imagine his 225 rep? I bet he could beat 85% of incoming nfl rookies. You know he can throw some weight around.

Nice try, but wrong. By the way you do realize there is a difference in 4.40 and 4,48 or 4.49., right?

Yes. We dont have a guy that is 260 and runs a 4.49. He would be faster than Clowney and almost as fast as OBJr.
Excuse me for calling bullshite on a true freshman being the 3rd 260 player in nfl history to a run a 4.4anything.

You do realize that the average nfl wr and cb run 4.48 right?

Ill leave the thread now. Keep believing a we have a 260 lb true freshamna thats faster than Clowney ( who was a rarety because of his speed) and just as fast as OBJR.yeah im the a-hole for saying no.

Nothing in that BLEACHER REPORT article said his time was laser

Yea I guess the 5 videos I posted of kids running electronic 40's at The Opening (the exact same event that Bleacher Report is referring to when they say he ran a 4.49) isn't sufficient evidence and no reasonable person would be able to put 2+2 together good Lord you're either the dumbest person I've ever talked to or you have a serious complex about being wrong

90% of the OPENING 40 times dont match up with combine times. I cant believe youre arguing that DWHITE is as fast a OBjr. Because thats what youre doing. Nothing you posted said his time was laser. You either dont follow football or you're just an idiot if you think a 260lb 4* recruit is faster than Clowney(WHO WAS TOUTED FOR HIS SPEED)
go ahead and continue to believe a 260 lb freshman at lsu is faster than the average nfl wr and cb. You clearly dont pay attention to football.

FWIW, Devin White and Odell Beckham have nearly identical times in high school track events at the same age.

Id be willing to bet the opening uses hand start- electronic finish. I dont even care at this point. If you want to believe lsu has a true freshman that was a 4 star recruit that would be the 3rd person in nfl combine history to run a 4.4 at 260 lbs then so be it. If you want to believe we have a 260 lb guy thats faster than Clowney and just as fast as one of the fastest wrs ij the nfl, then so be it.

I would suggest that in the future you not personally attack someone for not believing an OP. Which is what you did with our back and forth.

K. If there was a 260 lb guy that ran a 4.49 he wouldnt have been a 4 star player. Explain why Clowney was the next great player because of his speed and he ran a 4.53 yet we have a 260 lb guy running a 4.49 and he was a 4 star?

Im not saying White isnt fast as hell. He is. Im just saying id be willimg to bet anything he doesnt run a 4.4 anything at the combine. Thats it.

Got it. Nobody can ever be as fast as Clowney.

Football is more than being big and fast. Lots of tarzans play like janes.

Not saying White is bad or anything.

White also was ranked as a RB partially. If he had committed to just be a MLB early on in HS I'm pretty sure he'd be a 5*.

He's a freak of nature and I don't say that lightly. I just hope it translates to the field.

It's very apparent that we have a unique athlete in DW...
So why are you so freaking hung up on NFL combine times? Can't you understand that when you were 18 you were actually faster than you would be after 3-4 years of going against major CFB talent...all those weights you lifted to tone your body for one specific position vs lifting to be an all around athlete...

He was touted because of his size and speed. Try to keep up. His size and speed was so rare he was the #1 overall prospect.

He also destroyed sack records and played exclusively on defense.

He wasn't just big and fast, he was really really fricking insanely good at football.

He also has great height and arm span, something white is lacking.

Just forget it. Yes we have the 3rd player ever at 260 to run sub 4.5. Cool.
I hope its true. He will be a missile out there. He clearly is special because Miles says he will play every game and thats a rarety at lb in the sec. Most true freshman arent physically ready to play lb in the sec so he is clearly a cut above the norm.

Thats what set him apart. His speed and size. Clowney isnt the #1 overall recruit if he 230 and runs a 4.7. He was the #1 recruit because we hadnt seen someone his size with his burst of the line.

Anyway...

I hope he balls out this year. He could be a difference maker this year since we are moving to a 3-4. He is the perfect JACK lb.
