Who are the 4 losses to?

Alabama

And?

The toss up I see is Tennessee. If Heupel coaches Tennessee's offense like he did when he was at UCF, this one makes me circle it. It's a matter of who's driving the team. Who is the QB. I honestly don't know much about them. But I know Heupel and his offenses.

Florida always plays us hard and we play there. I'm not sure who the QB there is either. Is Jones still there or is that other guy, Richardson?

I'm not ready to write that one down as a loss though.

I feel ok about the Ole Miss game.

Auburn doesn't have Nix any more. They have Calzada and while he's good, he's not unbeatable. Auburn's defense makes me wonder though.

Arkansas might be a toss up too.

A&M doesn't have Calzada, he's at Auburn now. If Max starts..... I'll just leave it at that.

It’s very conceivable that we could go 10-2 with Bama and aTm being the predicted Ls. I know Arky will be very tough and Tenn is out of the gutter. Don’t think much of OM without Corral.

We could have been 10-2 this past season with some breaks: UK and OM dominated, but the Auburn and Bama games were some straight up voodoo bullshite.

Then we basically threw the Arky game by tinkering.

I know we were on the right end of some voodoo vs. Aggie though.

With Johnson as QB?

I understand that's not set in stone but who else would start over him? Haynes King who didn't play at all last season?

I was just going with the two most talented rosters on the schedule.

If Johnson is the best QB they have that’s gonna hold back all of those pricey 5*s.

Y’all are discounting quite a bit imo. I know these coaches are new so there’s some “gotta see it to believe it” there but they will have these players in much better shape than they were last year and we played with all these teams last year. There’s a lot of teams who lost quite a bit, like Florida, A&M, Ole Miss and Auburn. Alabama also lost didn’t play all that well on defense last year.

If one of our QBs takes off this year we could have a very good team. I think the new additions on the OL will at least help with developing last years players. Our players, especially the OL and DL needed to get into shape. Kelly and this new staff has been and is continuing to make that a priority with this team. It was very obvious.

Our DL could make huge strides this year and be very dominant. Our secondary added some key players that have lots of experience and success. Our WR game will be very good, our RBs need to improve but I think they’ll play good enough. I think the OL will surprise some people this year.

Kelly isn’t the type of coach to hype up his team in the media before he puts his players on the field but I think he knows he’s got a solid team to work with but just doesn’t know how it’ll all come together. The changes they’ve made could give our players lots of confidence to play with. We’ll see how it goes but I think we’ll have a pretty solid team.

I'm not discounting anything. I feel good about this team.

With that said, I don't think it's fair to right off any game even though there are more than likely going to be a couple losses. "Well we play _____ so that's an automatic loss"

I think Kelly has done an amazing job with trying to repair the damage from last season.

Not necessarily you but I guess the sentiment of this particular thread. I think there a strong possibility with a win against Bama this year also. I think we’ll lose 3 possibly 2 games this year, only because it’s a new staff with lots of new players who will need to get used to playing with each other. I don’t like the road games vs Tenn and A&M and of course Bama but we could win any of them at the same time.

It will really depend a lot on QB play but that’s every team in the SEC. I think LSU has some of the best collective QB talent to work with in the SEC this year so the chances of us producing at that position is not bad. It’s a team with lots of questions which doesn’t bold well for predictions but I believe they will answer many of those questions positively. The two positions I’m concerned with are TE and LB. The kicking game I’m not real sure about either but that’s lack of knowledge at this point. The rest of the team will be pretty solid imo.

We have to take into account how out of shape our lines have been the last few seasons. Even the 2019 season, the DL was up and down until the end. So that DL and that secondary may just work really well together. I think in the end the QB that protects the ball and can stay on his feet the best will start. That’s going to be a tough decision imo. But that’s a good thing.
