Unfortunately, I’m not a season ticket holder or someone who comes down (from Dallas) to tailgate every weekend, so I’m not as tuned in. However, the more I talk to buddies who tailgate at their respective schools (OU, Texas, A&M) they are having more and more “rent a spots” or corporate takeover. Are we heading in that direction soon? Am I going to have to pay for a spot now?

Yeah I'm interested in this topic too. My friend is a huge Chiefs fan, and I want to show her what LSU games and tailgating are like so we picked up some LSU UF tickets, but I have no idea what the tailgating situation is like. In the late 00s it was first come first serve in a majority of the places, is it still like that?

You can find all info on LSUs site about what areas are what when it comes to tailgating but there are still plenty of spots to just tailgate. Some Of the places closer to the stadium have become corporate tailgates, etc. it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. We still have just as much fun as we always have.

Yeah it’s still like that.

There is an area where you can pay for the tailgate service to set up/clean up but that’s a very small part of campus that it takes up. Everything is still fair game

Biggest tailgating change of note recently is the elimination of the tailgates Parade Grounds for the frats. That space has been completely dead since all that went down

When it comes to this subject, so many on this site seem like this.

And when you call them on it you get.
