I don’t think they were planning on playing him regardless. Before he moved to defense in highschool he was like a 5 star lineman. He’s easily the most pure tackle on the team. If he progresses like he can he’ll be dominant and start. We are a little bit away from that, but we will see.

Rosenthal isn’t starting next year
We moved a lower ranked freshman OG to starting LT last year (Charles). Putting a very athletic natural OT on the line as a RS FR next year is very reasonable if he makes the progress expected.

You want him protecting burrow’s blind side next year with 0 games snaps under his belt?

Good JUCO lineman are rare. They got the highest rated one last year and he struggled badly this year.

Plenty of experienced upperclassmen returning. No reason to think a redshirt freshman starts over Jr. Charles, Jr. Deculus, rsSr. Magee, and rsJr. Traore. Assuming Traore didn't play in more than 4 games.

Rosenthal did not see the field for one play this season. He will not be the starter at LT next season. I don’t know how you guys can be so high on him when nobody has seen him play as a Tiger. I feel he needs at least one more year to develop and learn the position.
