2018 gave us lots of highs and a few lows. The familiar frustration on offense was still there and the defense gave up big plays they shouldn't have. Alabama beat the snot out of us but as much as I hate to say it we should expect that for the foreseeable future. But we won 10 games on paper and another one was stolen from us in College Station. Florida beat us fair and square but we went 10-3. I'd have been happier with 11 or 12 wins but 10 wins this year with the schedule we played is impressive. All in all, I give the 2018 LSU football season a grade of B+.

We were excited and entertained throughout the vast majority of the season and that is a vast improvement. I was sad to see football season end this year for the first time in a few years. I have optimism for next year but I'm satisfied with the season that just ended as well.

10-3 & Fiesta Bowl champs!

And oh yea, Texas A&M will get destroyed by LSU in Tiger Stadium next year.

Why? We kicked the shite out of UGA and they gave Bama all they could handle twice.

I never thought I'd ever say this but.....

I agree with LNCHBOX.

There is no reason to think that we can't at least give Bama a scare in the near future.

Why?

Because until Ed O learns how to hypnotize our players like Saban must do, they're going to play damn near perfect football and will beat us 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Oh we should be able to at least scare them but I just think Bama is and will be too much for us for the next few years.

This is just absurd to me.

I'm not going to sit here and say we are on equal footing in terms of personnel. But there is no reason we shouldn't give them a game every year and knock them off every few years.

I see improvement for sure. Never liked the O hire, but there is progress and this team outperformed most projections. Recruiting seems to be picking up and O demonstrates his willingness to find answers to plug gaps (except for that O coordinator hire which was a blind spot).

I think the offensive woes against Bama have become as much mental, psychological, etc. as they are physical, scheme and execution related. Those things certainly apply, but its as if our coaches and team are convinced they will never score. Lesser teams don’t seem to think that way and I find it bizarre at this level of football.

If only we could play Bama head to head and not rely on how we competed against UGA vs how they competed against UGA.

Oh wait, that’s right we did play Bama head to head and on our home field and got shut out.
