Listening to Lane's press conference two conmments jumped out at me - to paraphrase:
1: the guys who play are the guys that earn that right in practice. He doesn't care how many stars you had, what your NIL payout is, or your "seniority" with the team (if there is such a thing any more). The best guys play - no ifs, ands or buts.
2: Attention to detail and not becoming complacent. Lane talked about a point where he talked to a coach about a lineman not blocking well. When the other coach questioned the comment he said "he didn't block well, he was just the more talented player".
After years of O and Kelly, it's really reassuring to have a coach that really gets what it takes to develop players and a team to be the best they can be.
