Or you just allow him to use the green bag. Any sane person knows he should use that bag in this scenario

Because the angle of the ball draws the first baseman that way.

Conversely the runner should use the white bag in that situation to avoid a collision.

If there is a groundout to shortstop, and there is no reason for the fielder not to use the white bag, then the 1st baseman must use the white bag.

Rules are black and white, it is the only play that the defender chooses a bag and the runner has to go to the other bag, it’s because dropped 3rd strikes can kick to 1st base foul side.

It’s legal on initial run…once ran thru, can’t go back green
