Ha, I remember it like it was yesterday and one of my favorite football games. Drove down from Athens, GA with 2 other cars full of friends. I was a student at UGA. Spent Saturday afternoon in Pat O’Briens with a fall breeze blowing. Drove to Baton Rouge before dark. Parked and started walking to Tiger stadium without any tickets. Bought cheap scalps along the way. It was a night game and the Tiger Fans were ready. The Tigers tailgating kept our cups full with all kinds of concoctions and me and my girl ended up in a corner of the stadium in a sea of Tigers. Not much to cheer about in the first half for the Dogs but, after that opening second half kickoff was returned for a touch down I was so loud I’m surprised the Tigers around me didn’t beat me up, kick me under the stands, and take my girl. I own one to the LSU fans. And I remember Fred Willard and Martin Mull in Fernwood 2 Night. Very funny! Can’t do TV like that anymore. Yes, I’m almost old sitting on my deck in GA on a comfortable August evening sipping some whisky medicine recommended by my local liquor store MD and listening to America on Amazon Prime.
