I don't suppose that these rule books are available to read on the internet?

What was the rule regarding forward passing that involved the cross-hatch gridiron lines on the field?

How would the 1908 team fare against the 2019 team is the real question.

I’d vote for adding a 1908 flag in the North Endzone. Time to recognize.

The field is 110 yards long, midfield is the 55 yard line.

The grid is set like boxed graph paper.

The ball can only be thrown from one box on the line to another in the same line, so that means forward, side to side and back.

The rule books do come up on ebay.

Carlisle is the other team using the pass in those years, oh and guess what these little Indian teams beat the northern power houses. Thrope gets to Carlisle in 1907 and adds a running game. He plays 1907-08, 10-11 for the Indians. Those Indians are not huge and many players left Carlisle to play at others, that includes starters to colleges like Texas A&M not sitting a year.

If you letter at one college you must sit a year, so sometimes they would go to the coach and get them not to letter them and transfer right away and play.

Doc Fenton is much like Gaye Sayers running style.

On a running play you have V. Smith in the lead of the runners blocking.

Clearance is the 3rd option on the run.

Martin is a north south runner and 2nd option.

From end I formation the counter play is used a lot. Now think of those three leading Doc around end, and if you defend the end run, LSU would use a counter swipe play with C. Smith or Martin.

The best play is the counter with the throw back to Doc who throws normally to Siep. This play was used a number of times.

Have never understood why we haven’t invited this team back to be recognized before a game...

Doc Fenton came on the field when I was very, very young around 1964?

The team came back in the 30's to be recognized by LSU.
