Exactly. What do you do in that scenario?
That really seems simple to me:
SEC Champ (obvious) and the SEC CG loser (12-1) go.
The remaining one would be 11-1 and have lost to the CG loser head to head

LSU or Bama winner only loses in SECCG
LSU 1 loss
Bama 1 loss
East winner 1 loss
This would be a very complicated scenario.
1. Bama wins a close one against LSU in Tuscaloosa then wins out regular season.
2. Florida beat UGA and wins out regular season and beats Bama in ATL.
3. LSU wins out regular season but sits at home during SEC champ with 1 loss.
You end up with 3 SEC teams with 1 loss all who beat Auburn and each with a win over the other (LSU over UF, Bama over LSU, and UF over Bama). UF and LSU have additional quality wins over UGA and Texas respectively. It's probably UF and LSU in at that point, but boy would the Gumps be pissed off.

The spot would go to the East winner. So UF and UGA absolutely still have a chance to get into the playoff.

No. LSU gets left out in that scenario. Head to head has precedence over quality wins, so that's why Bama would get in over LSU. And UF would have the conference championship, that's why they would get in.

I disagree with a 1 loss either Bama or LSU making the playoffs if:
1. tOSU remains undefeated
2. Clemson goes undefeated
3. LSU/Bama SEC champ
4th spot - Oklahoma wins Big XII with one loss. I just can't see the Big XII getting snubbed for a team that didn't win it's conference or even division. A one loss Bama or LSU may be better than OU, but it will be hard to keep them out.
If it does happen and a one loss SEC team jumps OU, watch for the NCAA to expand the playoffs next season and have at large bids.

If LSU beats Alabama on Nov. 9th and goes undefeated for the remainder of the regular season, LSU is in the college football playoffs regardless if they lose in the SEC title game. Cause LSU will have a better resume than every other one-loss team in America by virtue of LSU's three victories over top-ten teams.
Which of course begs the question of why LSU should even bother participating in the SECCG in that scenario.
Seriously. Why shouldn't a 12-0 LSU just forfeit, and say that they are happy with their regular season results and they rest their case for the CFP committee. Why risk losing? Why risk injuries?
This shite needs to get sorted out. The current playoff structure cannot co-exist with how the conference championship games work. There are too many scenarios where winning your division is a punishment instead of a reward.

Because they're part of the SEC?
I'm pretty sure they're contractually obligated to play in the conference championship game if they win the division.
You don't get to take SEC money then decide whether or not you want to play in the championship game.

Fine. Participate but play backups and freshmen.
Why treat it any differently than when NFL teams have a bye locked up?
My point remains the same. Why even care about the SECCG?
