Funny that you post that. I was thinking like Charles, that any thing is possible with the Bama Bias. If LSU and Bama were to meet again, I'd prefer it in the title game. Payback can be a b#tch!

ut is it about who is better or who is more deserving?

It is supposed to be who is the best four college football teams in the country.

Iowa and other teams are not ranked lower because they are "expected to lose" in November. Who's Iowa going to lose to in November?

You said their purpose is to find the 4 best teams in college football. That is correct.

You then said they think a team that lost a home game is more deserving than 8 teams. Bama is more deserving than undefeated teams. Because they are a better college football team AT THIS POINT.

Sorry you're really stupid and got confused by that.

the final poll will be much more about deserving, assuming the conference champs have 0 or 1 losses. A 1 loss LSU team that lost by a FG in overtime to Bama or Ole Miss isn't going to jump an undefeated Iowa Big 10 champion.

(In short: I think they did this to create a "Top 4 matchup" this weekend for hype reasons and profit... if that's true, which it certainly seems to be (due to 8 having undefeated teams ranked below them) then this system can be influenced.

Agree completely. See this:

but that's not correct, at the end of the year, conference championships and strength of schedule will play a much bigger role than "I think team A is better than team B".

I highly doubt ever seeing this happen.

"Bama is the best two loss team, do they deserve a playoff spot?"

Will be true probably but they won't get a spot.

They won't just drop them from the conversation.

The CFP committee will not put a 2 loss team in the playoff, regardless of "Bama bias", if there are plenty of 1 loss or undefeated teams. Regardless of conference or strength of schedule.

I'm not talking about the committee. I'm talking about the Bama lobbyists at ESPN that were already saying they still deserved a spot in the title game in 2011 immediately after losing to us.

Matt Moscona just went off on bama being #4.
Which is refreshing because he usually slobs on their knobs.

Is LSU the SEC champ in your example? Did they beat Florida in the sec championship? Because if yes to both then absolutely without question an 11-1 LSU would be ranked higher than an undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes.

I think a big reason that they are #4 is because they play us this weekend.

For those of you saying to move on that after Saturday when LSU beat Bama it won't matter you are missing the point. By being #4 already with1 loss there is a good chance they can make the playoffs even with a 2nd loss to LSU. Don't u see this sets them up to make it to the play offs as a 2 loss team. That is the worst part of this scenario - Wake up people!
