He handed Freeman the keys to an 11-1 top 5 program. Meanwhile he took over an Ed O team that he had to completely revamp. I can tell you don’t know football. There are a handful of coaches that would have LSU this far along based on what he was given to start

I know we haven't won a game to open a season yet. I know we shite the bed a least twice a year since BK came here.

Any a-hole can regress after 3 years. If we aren't in the playoff next year, his arse should be gone.

The program was in complete shambles when he took over. He followed a decimated and undisciplined Ed O led team that had barely 30+ scholarship players. I know we want to compete for a championship every year, but the fact that he stabilized and turned it around as quickly as he did is nothing short of amazing
I'm not here to defend O or bash Kelly, but I believe in honest discussion. LSU's talent composite going into 2022 after transfers and recruits was #8. The roster was still depleted though with 72 players. Why BK didn't fill the remaining roster with more transfers, I don't know.
2023 we were 7th with 80 players. Still not sure why we didn't fill the roster.
2024 LSU was 8th with 79 players
Obviously there are other variables like experience and talent and depth at specific positions. It will be interesting to see where LSU ranks after all the 2025 roster moves are done. I expect it to be a bit higher than the previous 3 years.

EVERYONE on this board wanted Lincoln Riley as our next coach in 2022. USC won the bidding war and we “settled” for Kelly. So, what has Riley done at USC in three seasons?
11-3, 8-5, 7-6 and a 2-1 bowl record.
Plus, his roster is weak going into 2025, with many players transferring, plus a #14 recruiting class, and currently a #43 Portal Class.
I believe BK has us ready for a great run at a championship in 2025!

That got Les fired
Les got Les fired, and Les should have gotten Les fired long before Les was fired.
Les should have been fired after his National Championship in 2007 when Saban wanted to come back.

The amount of “fans” that think 3 years is somehow enough to go from complete train wreck dumpster fire of a program to National Title is, frankly, astounding. Look around the college landscape right now and tell me the Coaches that have taken over a program and won a NC in their 3rd. Never mind all the baggage he inherited. But forget all that. Clean slate. How many coaches win a NC in their 3rd year? Answer: very very few. Freeman is the only one in that position today, and still has a shot at it. End of list.
Y’all need to be patient. For real. 29 wins, 3 bowl wins in first 3 seasons is awesome. It’s like novocaine, give it a little time and it’ll work.

Guess you should put BK in that number.

Our last two, who are almost universally considered to be worse coaches than BK for some reason.

At least 1 top 10 win in every season so far. We've been competitive. It's now time to get to the next level. I personally like the direction of the program. Look at where Notre Dame is right now. Extremely stable based laid down by BK over there. I think our base is laid now, which is why BK is swinging for the fences in the portal.

I said what I said and my point stands. Very few coaches take a new program to NC in 3 years. Would you put Kirby Smart, Nick Saban (with LSU), Dan Lanning, Steve Sarkisian, Jim Harbaugh, Ryan Day, Mike Norvell, Dabo Sweeney, Mike Lockley, Lincoln Riley, Shane Beamer above or below Les Miles and Ed Orgeron? Because, newsflash, none of them won an NC in their third year either. Kirby might be the best of all of them and he got handed a Cadillac from Richt and still took 5 seasons.

If you say so.

I mean, if you're just gonna cherry pick random un related situations, knock yourself out.
If you really want to argue this year was a success, I'm not wasting another post here.

How is it “unrelated”? Your point is that the 3 years of BK, and what he’s accomplished so far is not enough. What more could you want? Does he need 3 consecutive SEC championships to make you feel like it was “successful”? You don’t want to debate because you know you don’t have anything other than Feelings to share. My daughter always says “this is how I feel! You can’t argue with how I feel!” That’s you right now. I laid out facts, you just have hurt fee fees.

Winning the first game ever would be a nice start. Not losing to dogshit teams when we have a clear path to Atlanta/playoffs would be pretty neat too. Not losing 3 games with teh offense we had last year seems reasonable enough.
How much more do I need to list?

We can pay a lot less than $10 mil a year for 9-4 in year 3 with a down SEC dude.
Come on man, that’s not what I asked you. No need to side step. If you fired Kelly today, who are you bringing in?

This year's result shouldn't be celebrated.
Again, this is irrelevant to what I said. I agree with you. Not sure what your point was.

You people think LSU is competing for 12 spots you’re dead wrong. If you don’t win the sec you are competing for 7 spots. Thats only 3 more than it has been. With nIL and the way the committee pics teams(SMU)
that’s no easy task

This thread is a celebration of mediocrity and Kelly should be on the hot seat.

Welcome to the board, BK.

Who do you want to replace him?
Why is this so hard for you to answer

You can't logically argue with illogical people mate.
Kelly haters will hate him until he wins a NC and then they will start again on week 1 of the following season. They did it with Les. They did it with O. they'll do it with the next coach after Kelly retires.
